With some comments others have given me and my own further analysis of the new MM tree, I believe that the entire tree is supposed to be focused around Rapid Fire and its mana-saving, haste-improving, insta-cooldown properties. Given this assumption, this is a new spec - granted, rotations and playstyle will have to be changed greatly, but that's the really fun stuff that I'll get to do when the xpac comes around. People will think I have an intimate relationship with those target dummies. >.> Oh, also keeping in mind that auto shot can't be clipped anymore, I've picked up IAotH. Looks like haste will be a big part of the MM tree now. I could be completely wrong (why oh why don't I have a beta key?!) but I guess I'll find out!

Questions or comments, you know where to put 'em.

And a big thanks to everyone who's been spreading my name around. <3 I'm very new to the community, but a fine one it is!

[caption id="attachment_99" align="aligncenter" width="221" caption="The new standard in Wotlk."][/caption]

With the upcoming release of Wotlk, new bags will be introduced. It looks like the new 20 slot bags will be the standard, and the 22 slot will be the biggest normal bag.

[Imbued Netherweave Bag] 18 slot -> [Frostweave Bag] 20 slot

[Primal Mooncloth Bag] 20 slot -> [Glacial Bag] 22 slot

Other 22 slot bags:

["Gigantique" Bag] 1200g

[Dragon Hide Bag] Wotlk Obsidian Sanctum Raid Drop

I am looking forward to upgrading all my bags to [Frostweave Bag] in Wotlk. The mats are some of the new cloth [Frostweave] and enchanting dust [Infinite Dust]. So basically similar to netherweave and arcane dust on live. Currently I'm using only 16 slot bags on my bank alt, ya I know with the amount of gold I have I really should upgrade. With 11 bags to replace, that is a gain of 44 slots for me, not to bad for the welfare bag of Wotlk.

Here’s what I see the most:
“Why is Sylvanas a Night Elf in WoW?”
and
“Sylva

Here's what I see the most:
"Why is Sylvanas a Night Elf in WoW?"
and
"Sylvanas isn't a blood elf, why would
'blizz' give her a Blood Elf model!?"

Ironically, I would speculate that it is those of us
who play the game because it's fun, who
are probably finding the answer most obvious.

Sylvanas

Most WoW players to day know Sylvanas as "The Dark Lady" or "The Banshee Queen." Sylvanas Windrunner is currently the ruler of the "Forasken" a group of people cursed by the undead plaque, but no longer in servitude of Prince Arthas. (Read up about all that yourself you lazy bums.)

Lady Sylvanas, prior to all that, was know as Sylvanas Windrunner, Ranger-General of Silvermoon City. Now, Night Elves are not from Silvermoon, so she's not a Night Elf. The Highborne are not from Silvermoon, so she's not a Highborne. She was a High Elf. Meaning she looked like a Blood Elf, but with blue eyes and pale skin.

Sylvanas, while attempting to defend Silvermoon City was killed by Prince Arthas. Arthas then turned her into a Banshee under his control. In this form, she helped him sack her own homeland and destroy the Sunwell.

Eventually she broke free. Through sheer strength of will, and the fact that Arthas was weakening, she broke herself free from Arthas' control, reclaimed her OWN body and swore vengence against him. She then took over the human capitol of Lorderon. The rest is explained in WoW.

Let the Videos do the Talking

Tells Sylvanas' story prior to World of Warcraft. (It's 5 videos) - Warcraft III: Sylvanas Windrunner

Sylvanas as she appeared when WoW was released, and as she still appears today. That bounce? That's why it's just so wrong.

Sylvanas as she appears in the most recent version of the WOTLK beta.

No doubt you've noticed she has a blood elf character model. Because when she was alive she was a HIgh Elf. And the only physical difference between a High Elf and a Blood Elf is eye color and skin tone. Therefore, there is absolutely nothing incorrect about using a blood elf character model to represent a undead high elf, with glowing red eyes and blue/grey skin. Also, the High Elf NPCs currently in game are simply a blood elf model with blue eyes and pale skin.

Last but not least. The story, as told by Blizz, of Sylvanas Windrunner.

And the reason Lady Sylvanas has had a Night Elf model for so long despite the fact that there are now Blood Elf models...
Blizz was either being lazy, or they were too busy, or they were sure if they wanted to change the model for fear of public reaction to it.

To those who could take the time to argue the point frivoulessly on the WoW forums, but couldn't take the 10 minutes to look this stuff up, I say to you: Uh-DUH!

An "article" if you will explaining the whole Night Elf/Blood Elf connection
and why it is the Night Elf model isn't physically accurate for Lady Sylvannas,
and why a Blood Elf Model would be.
(According to Warcraft Lore.)

The reason I'm writing this isn't because I'm crazy-nutty obsessed with WoW.
It's a story and I find it interesting.
It's also to prove that about 10 mins of web-surfing can solve confusion.
A lot of people don't know about the Elf races or Sylvanas,
but they'll still tell someone how wrong they are,
and in reality, they are the ones who are wrong.
Enjoy.

Night Elves/Highborne/High Elves/Blood Elves

"The kaldorei are an ancient and reclusive race born during the waking of the world. Their ancient heritage has shaped them into a devoted warrior race, with a reverence for nature and animistic mystical forces. The kaldorei are practical but superstitious, and often a paradox. They are a people possessed with a deep spiritual passion and a desire to find solace."

Meaning: Kaldorei are Night Elves. It's what "Kaldorei" means in their imaginary language. Also, Night Elves are Hippies.

"The Highborne were the upper classes of the ancient Kaldorei civilization, at first a nameless caste made up of night elves who had unusual intelligence, strength, skills, or wealth and thus found favor with the ruling monarch. Their vast arrogance and greed, garish and multicolored clothing, and decadent habits did not endear them to other night elves. In fact, these powerful families became convinced that they were superior to the rest of their race, and so they began to call themselves the Highborne"

Meaning: The Highborne are nothing more than and evolution of Night Elves. Also, the Highborne are cocky little bastards.

(Get ready. This next one is long.)

"Finally giving themselves over to magic’s inevitable corruption, the Highborne fell to darkness and began to worship the Legionlord Sargeras as their god...To cement their dark pact, the ecstatic Highborne opened a great, swirling portal within the depths of the Well of Eternity which would allow the armies of the Legion access to the world, followed by Sargeras himself...The Legion was finally foiled by the efforts of the night elf Malfurion Stormrage, who in his battle with Queen Azshara collapsed the Well of Eternity, killing many Highborne and condemning those who survived to the sea floor...Yet many Highborne did not meet their fate at the bottom of the sea. Some had betrayed their Queen at the last minute...the Highborne foolishly [attempted] to convince the Kaldorei race of the power of magic by unleashing a magical storm upon Ashenvale. Their desperate gambit failed, and the Highborne were exiled; the night elves mercifully refusing to execute any more of their brethren."

Meaning: The Highborne's addiction to magic backfired. They unleashed hell on the world. The survivors tried to convince the Night Elves tha magic is good and then get banished. The Highborne are still cocky bastards.

"These exiled Highborne took their punishment in stride...set sail across the ocean..established their kingdom of Quel'Thalas ("High Home") and crowned Dath'Remar their king. There, they slowly changed in form, diminishing in size and becoming darker of hue. They abandoned the worship of the Moon, adopting instead the Sun, and became the high elves."

Meaning: Highborne found a new home. (North-East of Lorderon.) Changed their named to High Elves. And, oh yeah, still cocky bastards.

"After their homeland of Quel'Thalas - and the source of their power - was destroyed by the undead Scourge, a radical group of high elves embraced their Highborne ancestry and resumed for the third time their reckless use of magic. Kael'thas Sunstrider renamed these people as the blood elves, and traveled to Outland with Illidan to find a way to fuel their magical addiction. Those who did not travel with him remained behind and began to rebuild their shattered capital city of Silvermoon."

Meaning: Blood Elves are former high elves, cut off from their source of magic. The only difference between a Blood Elf and a High Elf is their magic use and eye color.

Visual Comparison

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Night Elves and the Highborne don't look the same blah blah blah." It's stated that the Night Elves and The Highborne have "...near-identical physical appearance(s)." Also no change of physical apperance is mentioned until The Highborne are exiled and arrive at the future Quel'Thalas where "...they slowly changed in form, diminishing in size and becoming darker of hue." So, the physical change occurs once the Highborne are exiled.

Summary

Night Elves spawned and Elite Society within themselves known as the "Highborne"

The Highborne eventually became so different from Night Elves that they became a entirely new race.

The Highborne were eventually exiled from the Night Elven Society

When the Highborn claim their new homeland in Lorderon they change their name to the "High Elves"

At this same time is when the change in physical appearance takes place.

Blood Elves do not appear until after the scourge have sacked Silvermoon and destroyed the Sunwell (High Elves source of power.)

Blood Elves are high elves who had to find a new source of magic to feed their addiction to magic.

The new magic is what causes the slight change in physical appearance, including eye-color.

I myself am sort of a gamer. I mainly play Counter-Strike: Source but enjoy the odd game of something else. What I hate most is World of Warcraft. I mean, it is a good game and all but doesn't meet up to the specifications to what they charge you to play. The game itself costs $25 usually, but it costs about $35 for a 60 day game card. By not having a game card you cannot play. It really sucks. The only way it is good is if it play it 24/7. I had the game for a month. It was alright, though I liked playing CS:S a lot more. When you first buy the game, you get 30 days free. After that it's money raking time. I used the 30 days and then never played it again. I am still satisfied with Counter-Strike: Source and it has almost been 3 years. I got bored of WoW in less than a month. Sad...just sad. RPG's shouldn't charge a fee to play the game after buying it. I find it just plain stupid. Therefore, WoW just sucks!

I was on the beta a day or three ago when I heard it. Just standing in Shat minding my own busine

I was on the beta a day or three ago when I heard it. Just standing in Shat minding my own business and there in front of me were two people arguing about how replacing healing and damage with spellpower was going to be the end of the world. Great cracks opening in the ground, the dead rising from the grave, dogs and cats living together, you get the Idea. They talked on and on about how everyone would be after the same gear, how there would be no variety.

The mage was convinced this was put in place for the sole purpose of making everyone else take his loot.

The priest was certain that with so many dps cloth wearers out there that she would always get out rolled on her loot.

Admittedly it was more entertaining than watching TV, so I just kinda sat there and watched. I figure if they wanted this to be private they would use whispers instead of chat bubbles. Back and forth it went, no one seeming to make any headway. After about 15 minutes or so I decided to say something. They had been going back and forth without really comparing anything.

Well, it just so happens that I have been really lucky in Kara and actually had both the healing and dps tier 4 gloves on me at the time. I linked them both so they could compare what the change actually looks like. Oddly they were still able to tell the difference between the healing piece with MP5 and the DPS piece with crit.

The conversation then turned to how even though one piece might be better for one or the other it could still be used by both. Mage having mana issues in long fights? swap in a few pieces of "healing" gear for the mana regen. Priest need a bit of hit/crit? swap in a bit of dps gear. Farmed that "perfect" piece of gear till you can run the instance in your sleep (and likely have) without it dropping? Odds are something close did and you are using that while you keep trying.

It seems at the end of the day that both were happy with the way it looks like it will work out. There will be less shards, less wasted gear, and easier gearing up. Overall it seems like a win-win to me.

So off I went, logging back to the live servers to work on my upcoming hunter. I still had the whole thing rolling around in my head though. Somehow I ended up thinking of it like a commercial for a certain trademarked candy that we will not mention by name.

Mage: Hey! you got your healing on my spell damage!

Priest: No, you got your spell damage on my healing!

struggle, struggle, struggle...

Both: Hey! this spellpower stuff is pretty good!

Why, oh why, do I think of these things?

Well, I spent today relatively quietly, watching some anime (Death Note and Kasimasi, for those interested. I highly recommend Kasimasi, some of the later episodes are real tear-jerkers.) Almost leveled my hunter to 30, and did SSC and Gruul's tonight. (Well, not all of SSC, but a decent amount--raid went late tonight while we downed Lurker, Leo, Kalithress, and the one guy with the murlocs.)

Got a nice upgrade off of Leo; won the roll for the crit trinket too, but I did pass on that despite its being a huge upgrade for me. Even so, I should see a nice DPS increase with this new weapon.

Being guildless for the last week has been interesting. No less than 5 guilds approached me about a possible membership, but I pretty much had my heart set on Cloudy Day.

Speaking of Cloudy Day, I did an interview with Nino tonight, and I'm now officially an "Initiate" of CD! It's exciting business, and I'm looking forward to a bright future with this guild. Very proud to have <Cloudy Day> under my name, that's for sure.

So last night i had finished with my dailies and ground out a fair amount of aldor rep (killing demons in Shadowmoon Valley) and was heading back to Shatt to log when i saw a curious thing in trade chat: "LFM Gruul's Lair raid." Now normally i would have scoffed at this since i have been in my fair share of bad PUG's (That's Pick Up Group for those of you just joining us... or group of people you dont know). However the person in trade chat was someone i knew and had been guilded with and had raided with. So i thought what the heck. This might be good for a laugh. So i joined and immediately saw a few familiar faces including one of the officers in the guild i am in. So slowly but surely the raid filled up and we zoned in. So... can a PUG of 25 people do 25 man raiding content? Well my shiney new Netherblade Breeches say yes... yes they can. The group ranged from fresh 70's in a few pieces of kara gear to a couple of T6 "Leet" people. But for the most part knew what they were doing and did their jobs very well.

Here's a couple of 25 man PUG tips:

Dont be "that guy"

Dont speak on vent unless you absolutely have to

Dont complain about anything in raid

Do you job

Have a support system (while running this myself and the 2 other officers from my guild vented in officer's chat about how much complaining some of the others were doing. Like the holy pally who was whining that she was out of mana 1/3 of the way into the high king fight and dead on the second ground slam for Gruul)

Have Fun... (it's a game remember)

Now i have only ever done Gruul's layer as a healer, so doing it as a melee DPS was a bit different...First off Gruul is Fracking HUGE! I had a tough time know which was the front and which was the back (since he's on all fours for most of the time). It was also weird having to change positions every little bit to avoid the slew of cave-ins. But all and all it was a fun fight. I really liked being able to pop cloak of shadows every time he did ground slam... it made avoiding others a lot easier than on my healer.

So the moral of the story is that yes you can PUG a 25 man instance... assuming that the group you get is decent :)

We finally had our first attempts on Archimonde! After one-shotting Kaz and Az (twins maybe?), we went on to the Night Elf camp, which really made me feel like my heroes were missing and I needed more wisps...Anyway, we spent about 20 minutes just jumping off the cliff. Man is that fun! We had a few sped kids, but overall, people got the hang of it pretty quickly. I was leaping off the edge with my talbuk, falling like a rock and sailing the last few meters gracefully to the ground. I got it the first time, but I just kept doing it, cuz it was really REALLY fun. Meanwhile I was thinking, "It can't be this easy during the fight..." But it kinda was. Besides the fact that you never have time to prepare, you have plenty of time while falling to figure out what just happened and make sure you don't go rocketing to your death. Avoiding the fire is a little bit more tricky, but definitely doable. And man is this guy squishy! It would be nice if I could just stand there and let loose. I guess that's what the last 20% is for.

We had a few attempts on him before a few people had to call it quits early (lame!), and we got him down to 85%. I think it was just enough time for people to get used to what they were doing. Besides being feared into the fire once, I did pretty well, I thought. Everyone was having a great time, including our grumpier members, which made the whole thing so much more enjoyable.

In summary, GREAT experience, and it's almost worth the monotony of Hyjal just to attempt him again. I hear it takes a long time for guilds to down him. Your stories are more than welcome. =D I can't decide who's more fun, Archi or Gorefiend.

Bored?

Burned out?

Well that makes 27,432 of us (and counting).

I figure that instead of waiting for a month to see new things and face new challenges I would try to make up a few of my own. Nothing complicated, just something to do while I wait for Wrath to hit.

1. Win the Stanglethorn Vale fishing contest.

2. Want to see how good you really are at PVP? Go que up your bank toon and see how well you can do.

3. Open trade with a gold begger, put 100g in the trade window and see how long they will wait for you to click accept before giving up and leaving. You might want to pack a lunch.

4. Speaking of gold beggers. Make a macro that will whisper them the catchy part of some song lyrics, attempting to get it stuck in their head.

5. Grab 9 friends for a lowbie raid. All ten of you roll new alts, level to 10 and try to raid either Wailing caverns or Deadmines. I'm thinking 2 tanks, 3 healers, and 5 DPS.

6. Get some friends together and play darts. Pick someplace with good long fall and place a character who can rez at the bottom. Have everyone jump, trying to be the one who hits closest to the rezzer. The floating rocks in Negrand seem like a good place for this one.

7. Be like everyone else and spend the next month grinding for one thing or another.

8. Run out of things to do, stand in Shattrah and engage in deep discussions of politics with like minded intelligent people.

9. Make french fries and use garlic salt instead of table salt. Yes I know, not Wow related. Wait, you could eat them while playing! Ha! now its Wow related.

Whatever you do, make it fun. Don't just sit waiting for next month, play the game we have now.

I have also included a preview of what [Noble's Elementium Signet] looks like when equipped. Every few seconds you will see my right had sparkle. This ring is one of the current gold sinks on live. Some people have bought one for their bank alts just because they can. Priced at 2400g this is not for the feint of heart and is sold by Haris Pilton in Lower City. The ring even reads "Finely crafted from the rarest materials, this exquisit ring is worn by the world's elite". I wanted to try this item out in the beta before I bought one for my live bank alt. I must say, this is the few items that will set you apart from the rest.

Silvermoon City Banker

[caption id="attachment_90" align="aligncenter" width="356" caption="Silvermoon City Banker"][/caption]

With the release of guild banks, many bank alts have purchased them for extra space. They provide 96 slots per tab with up to 6 tabs available for purchase. So is it cheaper to have a new bank alt purchase a few tabs or just buy bags and bag slots from their personal banks? Lets find out...

Personal Bank Method

1st - 10 Silver
2nd - 1g
3rd - 10g
4th - 25g
5th - 25g
6th - 25g
7th - 25g

Total: 111.10g

16 Slot [Netherweave Bag] - 7g each x 11

Total: 77g

Slot Breakdown

28 Bank
112 Bank Slots
16 Backpack
64 Personal Bags
0 Guild Bank

Total Slots: 220
Price: 188g
Price per slot: .85g

Guild Bank Method

Guild Charter - 10g
1st - 100g
2nd - 250g
3rd - 500g
4th - 1000g
5th - 2500g
6th - 5000g

Total: 9350g

Slot Breakdown (Using 2 Tabs as an example)

28 Bank
0 Bank Slots
16 Backpack
0 Personal Bags
192 Guild Bank (96 per tab)

Total slots: 236
Price: 360g
Price per slot: 1.5g

From the results, you can see that purchasing bank slots and bags is cheaper than buying guild tabs. Even more so if you have the bags crafted as you only need netherweave cloth. Remember the guild bank method is a set price and does not change. It also scales terribly since the more tabs you buy, the greater the cost. By the time you buy all 6 tabs for 9350g, you are paying over 16g a slot! Lets say you use small 6 slot bags with the personal bank method, your still paying less per slot compared to the guild bank method.

Personally I have a combination of both, I like how the guild bank has all your items in one space compared to having all your personal bank slots open at once. I guess I could download a bag mod to fix this. Another reason I have both is I like having only one bank alt and do not like logging on to multiple characters. So when all my bags and slots became full on my bank alt, I ended up buying 2 bank tabs for more space. Some of you may only specialize in one particular market, so having item specific bags will be even cheaper when using the personal bank method. However some of you heavy auction house players will need more than the 200+ slots used in the examples above. Many of you probably have multiple bank alts already to handle the amount of items you move daily.

I hope this information helped you make a decision if you were just making your first bank alt or were considering one. Buying bags and personal bank slots are the way to go when you are starting out, then expand to a guild tabs if you need more space for that one bank alt.

I have a new, exciting, and vey frustrating dilemma: Which character to level first to 80 in Wrath.

Damn its hard, 4 toons, 1 well geared, 1 reasonable, and 2 new 70s. The expansion offers the opportunity to level without there being a gear unbalance, and change my selection of "main".

Currently I'd say Warlock is my main, if only because he has the best gear of the four. But then I've been spending serious hours on my Paladin as Tank and its really starting to show. But then I got distracted by Druid and Priest, and found that things in those new classes were advantageous and interesting. The dilemma is made worse because the two new classes might be interesting only because they are new.

The choices are:

Warlock

For: High damage output, pets for soloing, some benefit to groups, wipe recovery 1/hour, only one gear set needed.

Against: Squishy, no stealth/mob avoidance, being silenced makes you useless, multi-mob encounters can be tough.

Paladin:

For: Plate wearing, 3 hybrid roles, bubble and run, good burst healing, AoE tanking, multi-mob encounters are ok,

Against: Multipe gear sets, hybrid roles require full respec, can't kill quickly unless Ret.

Druid

For: High damage, 4 hybrid roles (melee dps, heal, tank, range dps), stealth,

Against: Gear sets for each role,

Priest

For: Very good healing, reasonable damage, 2 roles, Shadowform is cool,

Against: Squishy, no stealth, no wipe recovery, being silenced makes you useless,

My plan is to play each of them solo and do some questing. For each I'll watch how easy it is to get groups, complete quests, and generally survive and prosper in WoW. Part of what I wish to consider is what I'll bring to my Guild in the expansion too, but that is secondary at the moment. This might be the best time to experiment with a comparison, being that many players are also playing a round on alts. I'll get to see how players run characters when they are slightly less proficient, and watch to see the differeneces in thier class too.

Lastly as a sidebar: Why on earth does the LFG tool not allow me to flag for multiple characers? It would be so good to mark what I'm after on each toon, then grab the first group for any of it. Sheesh.

I’ve been keeping vaguely up to date with the Wrath of the Lich King beta. And because it

I've been keeping vaguely up to date with the Wrath of the Lich King beta. And because it's in beta and a lot of decisions still aren't set in stone, I never thought there was much point pontificating too much on their plans. But what they are planning with PvP and the PvP gear right now puzzles me a lot.

Currently you can run battlegrounds (like scenarios in WAR) and earn honor points from them which you can spend to get gear. You can run arena (a totally separate ladder system based on 2/3/5 man group deathmatches in small arenas) and get a different set of arena points which you can spend to get better gear. Some pieces can only be bought with honor gear.

Arena can be much more of a hardcore prospect, battlegrounds can be queued for solo (like scenarios, you get put into a raid group when you zone in) so can be more casual.

They had originally planned to wipe all of the honor and arena points when the new expansion hit so that people couldn't save them up and use them later to buy level 80 PvP gear. The idea being that everyone started with a blank slate and would be running battlegrounds together. Which is not a bad plan. Then due to screams of overreaction, they decided instead to leave the existing points but heavily inflate the prices for the level 80 gear, whilst giving out more points at level 80. So effectively doing the same thing but letting people keep 'their' points, even though they'll be mostly worthless.

So far so good. But then Kalgan (one of the Lead Game Designers) posts this on the forums. And here he sets out their plans very clearly. There will be craftable gear for people starting out in PvP to use in battlegrounds. But all the better quality gear will require both arena points and battleground points. So the casual players who ran a few battlegrounds for fun will be pushed into arena if they want to upgrade, and the arena players will have to run battlegrounds.

See this is exactly what I mean about giving players the illusion of choice. If I hate arena (and a lot of people do, it's very different from queueing up for Alterac Valley when you're bored and have a free moment) then why force me to do it? And in PvP, the quality of your gear directly affects your survivability which affects your FUN. It really isn't fun to be rolled the whole time by people with better gear. In the current system, although the arena gear is better, the stuff you can get from battlegrounds is still good. So there are effectively 2 upgrade paths. They don't plan to do this in the expansion.

Kalgan's comment:

That aside, it is important for me to point out that the arenas were never really meant to become quite as much of a focal point for the overall pvp game as they have (part of why we set the system up so players could get the full benefit from the system with only 10 total games per week), it's more of a natural consequence of the fact that because we have a way to measure success that feels reasonably balanced against pve, we're able to put high-end items there, which on its own creates the focus of importance.

So arenas weren't planned to be so dominant but they're going to go with it anyway. He has no answer for people who hate arena and liked battlegrounds for their casual-friendly nature except 'get skills, noob!'. I'm reading this and thinking about how much fun I've had with PvP in WAR, and I'm sad to see a good game like WoW deliberately make itself unfun in that aspect.

I don't know why I haven't posted this video up, but seeing it again after quite a long time has reminded me of how epic Blizzard games can be. After a period of a few months, I saw the Diablo 3 cinematic teaser once more and I can't help but showcase it here:

Yeah. The Sunstrider fight...not the 5-man, the 25-man. We blew through Al'ar and Kael trash with some people from Confirmed and Contempt supplementing CD's raid team (and I got the nice ring from Al'ar!) and made it to Kael in no time.

The fight explanation was one of the most complex things I've heard. I thought Vashj was something, but Kael'thas is a very tough fight. Took a lot of concentration.

We wiped quite a few times tonight. The first few were due to transition problems as far as I could tell--we still had the Phase 2 weapons up when Phase 3 started, and we never did get all the adds down before Phase 4 started. All in all, it was a great learning experience, but it's really intimidating looking at that guy.

Of course everyone running up and hugging him pre-fight was a great stress reliever.

Anyway, the first thing I thought when I saw him was..."Epic!" And yes, the fight was epic. Scared the piss out of me when the first add (who acts surprisingly like that guy from AQ20!) started eyeing me.

In phase 2, I found it difficult to find the staff to loot. It's a little hard to see against the floor. But I got it okay, and it certainly helped my damage. Upped my gear rating too...L175 items tend to do that. At least temporarily lol.

I got a Lionseye today, so I have officialy started socketing for Arcane! Very happy to finally get around to doing that; should be at 14k+ mana soon.

Most eventful event: I ran Mag's after over a month of trying to pug. We took a bunch of ppl from our TK raid, threw in some overgeared puggers like Annoyance (BT shadow priest) Envvy (T6 pally tank with Thunderfury!) Umbrae...and rocked that guy. Burning him down by keeping the channels on him more during Blast Wave interrupts makes that fight very fast.

I didn't get any gear from Mag's of course, but I am now:

VELINATH, CHAMPION OF THE NAARU.

Incidentally with that kill I have officially downed at least one boss in EVERY end-game instance in BC. (3 in ZA, 2 (the 2nd and 3rd) in BT, and 1 in Hyjal). Exciting business.

So I was thinking the other day, how much gold should I save up if I wanted to buy all the goodies in Wotlk. Many of you have seen multi-passenger mount for around 20,000g. Regardless of your feelings on if it is worth it or not, lets see how much gold you should be saving if you wanted to buy all these new shiny toys. After looking all the vendors around Dalaran, here are some of the vendor items I found as well as some from reputation vendors. Please be aware these prices are subject to change and may not reflect vendor discounts for reputation (up to 20% off at exalted). Some items may only be available for testing purposes. Prices are from build 9038. Remember this is a beta.

40+ Various Shirts, Hats, Flowers, Wine, Pets, Food 1-100g/ea

Assuming your not a mage and leaving out all the items below 250g, buying all these items cost over 43,000g non-discounted (around 35,000g at exhalted). Mages are going to be looking at over 49,000g! Honestly I can see myself buying some of these items just to burn some of the gold I have. However I will probably power level my professions first since they will generate the majority of my income in Wotlk. Getting [Cold Weather Flying] is pretty much a given; all it requires is level 77+ and regular flying mount training (150 Expert skill).

If you are wonder what exactly a [Tome of Dalaran Intellect] does, you may be disappointed. All it does is change the spell animation and icon. Looks like the arcane blast animation when you cast it, as well as a new icon over your head. Everything about functionality of the spell stays the same, it is purely cosmetic.

The new vanity items are fun for about the first 30 seconds. I expected more out of a 250g keg I can drop for my raid, [Cask of Aged Dalaran Red]. It has 25 charges of wine that you and your party can click much like a mage table. The keg itself as an expiration date of 365 days from when you buy it. So I decided to drop one, clicked all 25 charges and drank all of it. Not much happened except your usual drunk effects.

The [Toy Train Set] is fairly entertaining and annoying. Much like the [Piccolo of the Flaming Fire] that makes everyone around you dance, except it makes them do a /train emote. It has a 30 minute cool-down, 1.5 minute duration, and puts a small train set on the ground. Nice to know people can't spam this item, but annoying nonetheless. This might even be funny during a 25 man raid.

I have not included BOE items like the [Mechano-hog] or various crafted items. Prices of crafting materials are still unknown till they make it to live. The mats for the it contains 12 [Titansteel Bar]. Each bar has a 20 hour cool down to make and require 3 of the new primals(eternals). My guess is the mats will cost thousands of gold. The price of the mount may be in be in relation to the price of the other multi-passenger mounts in the game, as you can get one through rep for 8000g. The motorcycle is also is considered a siege vehicle which means it has it's own hit points. You will be dismounted when your hit points reaches zero. I have seen this used in WSG to drive the flag carrier around. There may be a high demand for these on live, but we will see. So in conclusion, if you have around 35-45k gold on live, you will be able to afford most of the gold sinks in Wotlk.
