Le principe est simple : l'internaute choisit à l'aide d'une interface ludique et intuitive plusieurs critères pour lancer sa WebRadio.

Les critères sont : l'ambiance (énergique/calme, sombre/positif), Dance (tempo+/tempo-, dance+/dance-), la période et les genres musicaux.

Assim que você entra, imediatamente tem acesso a uma barra vertical, onde poderá selecionar o estilo de músicas a partir da combinação de quatro temas: Dark, Positivo, Energético e Calmo, além de ter a possibilidade de selecionar o ano desejado, através de uma linha do tempo horizontal, que vai dos anos 50 à 2000, ou simplesmente clicando em todos, curtindo assim o som de todas as épocas.

Em seguida selecione os seus gêneros favoritos, dentre as opções temos, rock, pop, disco, soul e se você pretende ouvir algo em bom português opte por latino. O aplicativo monta uma teia gráfica sinalizada por ícones e cores distintas para cada estilo, agora é só curtir o som e descobrir novas canções.

A possibilidade de descobrir músicas novas a partir de suas escolhas de filtragem é o que torna esta aplicação de fato muito interessante, eu que sempre me achei eclético e culto quando se fala em música, percebi que sou de fato um desinformado, mas assim sigo, vivendo e aprendendo.

Que você quiser potencializar ainda mais as possibilidades de descobertas, selecione na primeira barra horizontal a opção mais próxima a lupa e mais distante do coração, garanto que ficara surpreso com o resultado.

Se você se registrar novas opções são adicionadas, como marcar as músicas favoritas ou as que você não quer mais ouvir, na versão gratuita segundo os desenvolvedores o áudio é Lo-Fi, mas isso não é um grande problema a não ser que você tenha uma audição extremamente fidedigna o que parece não ser o meu caso, já que para mim o áudio é de muito boa qualidade, ainda que na versão gratuita.

Já na versão paga, a partir de 3 euros ao mês, alem das funcionalidades descritas acima você terá o áudio em Hi-Fi e acesso direto as músicas favoritas, alem é claro de sua interface não apresentar propagandas.

Em minha opinião o Musicovery é uma excelente opção de rádio on-line e se você realmente gosta de música prepare-se para muitas descobertas.

Personalment, l'experiència del twitter la trobo molt interessant i de gran utilitat per conèixer l'última hora de les notícies. Per exemple, ahir mitjançant el twitter i donant un cop d'ull a l'ordinador, 5 minuts, em vaig assabentar de la desgràcia de Barajas gràcies als twitts de Vilaweb, 3cat24, Diari Maresme i Marc Vidal. Quan entro a twitter pots anar fent amics a partir d'altres companys o a partir de les teves adreces de correu, amb el resultat de tenir unes amistats lligades, bàsicament, a la catosfera. Quan entro en el blip aquesta opció no hi és i en canvi al penjar el primer missatge, adjunto una cançó de Prince, em surten tots els DJ's que han seleccionat algun tema de Prince per si vols fer el seguiment d'aquests (els Followings de twitter són aquí els Favourite DJ's) i em surten de totes les nacionalitats i ningú conegut. La bola es va fent gran i cada missatge+cançó que penjo hi tinc associats DJ's que també accepto com a favorits. Les cançons que un té de referència no són una ni dues ni tres, són moltes i el blip treu fum i tant si en treu, en  treu el meu i el de companys americans, italians, brasilenys que veig com jo han iniciat el seu blip el 10 d'agost i ja tenen més de 50 missatges penjats. Jugues amb les diferències horàries: no pots seguir tots els blips penjats, funciona les 24 hores a un ritme trepidant, el DJ penja missatge+cançó o només cançó de forma compulsiva.

 Trets que destacaria del blip:

1. Pots crear la teva llista de música preferida, a partir de la selecció d'altres DJ's, és l'ordre add to playlist.
2. Pots escoltar online el que tu has penjat, una cançó rera l'altra o bé escoltar el que van penjant. Ara hi ha penjats 89 temes que poden anar sonant, 89 per uns 4 minuts de promig cada un, 356 minuts, 6 hores de música ininterrumpuda. Millor que el musicovery en aquest aspecte. Podria resumir-ho en el que seria la música de la teva vida; pensa que sempre trobaràs a faltar alguna peça que... de moment no hi és.
3. La xarxa social utilitza bàsicament l'anglès amb el que dóna per practicar-lo i deixar-te anar. També hi ha missatges en italià, brasiler, espanyol i algun en català ;).
4. La xarxa social blip demostra que el que importa és la música seleccionada: més d'un missatge en català en una xarxa bàsicament anglosaxona ha rebut més d'un recolzament (props: punts que et dóna un altre DJ).
5. Permet fer cerques molt obertes: per autor, per tema, per trossos de paraules, per paraules aillades...
6. Sempre, sempre trobes aquella cançó que no t'esperes, que té un significat especial i pam! la trobes.
7. Hi ha versions (covers en diuen) de temes que són perles difícils de trobar de forma gratuïta i ràpida.
8. La imatge de la web és molt similar a la de twitter, pel que l'eina és fa senzilla d'ús si estàs habituat a twitter.
9. Pots enllaçar cada missatge que emets a d'altres plataformes: twitter, friendfeed, pownce, tumblr, livejournal, jaiku i audioscrobbler. Servidor només està a twitter i he optat per no lligar-les (de moment). Hi trobo a faltar el facebook.

El que sí puc afirmar és que el blip ha estat una gran troballa, un retrobament amb mi mateix, amb la música que m'ha acompanyat i que m'acompanya. L'opció de mesclar missatges i música i entrar en una xarxa "global" és divertit, sobretot per la gran aportació d'informació bolcada les 24 hores del dia pels 211 DJ's que tinc fitxats. Veure la ràpida resposta quan tu afegeixes algú a favorits o bé quan dones punts; en qüestió de segons o pocs minuts reps un correu amb la resposta: també t'han afegit. Només em queda convidar-te a que ho provis i si t'hi trobes còmode, hi participis.

Musicovery is a web-radio akin to Pandora. But where Pandora asks you to input an artist's name, Musicovery wants to know your mood.

By assessing the subtle variances between the Four Pillars of Mood--Dark, Calm, Positive, Energetic--and blending your selection of genres, Musicovery is able to build a radio station for you. The fun part, though somewhat gimmicky, is exploring the colorful web it creates that links various artists together. It's a mixture of music and visual arts. When plugging in genres and adjusting the "mood meter," I found I was thinking visually about what I wanted to hear.

1. First up is Pandora Radio.  Enter a song or artist and it plays songs like those.  You can give a thumbs-up and thumbs-down to a song to help it select better songs.  The drawback to Pandora is that it does not have a lot of mainstream music.  Most of it is obscure and/or independent.  For some this is a feature, but I like a lot of mainstream music.
2. Another favorite of mine is Last.FM.  You download a program that tells Last.FM what music you play, called "scrobbling."  Then it takes that information and builds a station for you, recommends music and recommends stations of people with similar music tastes.  It also lets you choose friends and listen to their channels.  I am tlenze, by the way.  Feel free to add me.
3. Musicovery is also really neat.  No need to download anything.  You choose genres, energetic or calm and dark or positive.  The nice thing about this service is that it shows you a map of the songs it will play you.  That way you can ban songs before you actually have to hear them, unlike Pandora and Last.FM.

All three of these services let you buy the songs you hear in a click or two.  Give them a try.

First, you only get 12 songs, so you actually have to think about what you are going to include in the mix and how it will be arranged.  Also, you can always just create new pseudonyms with different email addresses if you want multiple mixes up at the same time.  You can also plug it into your Last.fm account, so any songs you listen to through Muxtape is automatically added to your just listened list in Last.fm.

I also think it's a fun way to browse for artists/songs you haven't heard before.  You can browse all the different mixes people have posted and listen to songs to see if you like them.  It's also a cute way to send that all-important "mix tape for the person you like" without actually having to fill up a CD or send something physical.

I've actually made two so far :)  My first attempt is one full of songs with LOTS of hand-clapping.  My iTunes is a complete mess, so I know i have more and better ones, but I didn't feel like digging through to find them and I can't remember off the top of my head, so...

My second mix is comprised of some of my favorite female vocalists singing fairly low-key/folksy songs.  A couple of the songs are actually from some new artists I am not terribly familiar with, but I love their voices.

There are a couple of annoying things about the site.  First, it only takes mp3s.  That's a bitch if you have stuff you've downloaded fromiTunes, since you can't convert that music to mp3.  I guess that's actually more a complaint about the iTunes store than Muxtape, though.  Also, you have to wait for each song to upload individually, so it can take about 30 minutes to upload all the songs for you mix.  There's no mass upload option. :/

Speaking of fun ways to discover music, I also know this site called Musicovery. It makes fun maps of songs related to the one you are listening at the moment.  It uses pretty colors and fun swirly lines :) Just a really neat way to visually represent the similarity between artists and genres.  Check it out sometime if you want to have some fun!

You can listen to the radio for free at a low streaming quality; better quality is offered for paid users. You've got to decide for yourself if the streaming quality is acceptable or if you're willing to spend 4US$ a month for an account. I consider musicovery to be a toy which is good for playing with different styles of music but that's it :P

Last.fm <>>>> Clásico entre los clásicos. Last.fm ha conseguido hacerse un hueco en los ordenadores de todos los aficionados a la música. A partir de la música que escuchas en last.fm se crea tu perfil musical, de forma que Last.fm puede ofrecerte la música que te gusta. Además Last.fm ofrece múltiples widgets y plugins para disfrutar mejor de tu música favorita. Sin duda es un servicio muy completo que por algo se ha convertido en el portal líder de música en la red y que ha acabado mezclando el concepto de radio personalizada con el de una red social.

Musicovery <>>>> A pesar de que Last.fm esté muy bien no todo acaba ahí. Algunas iniciativas como la de Musicovery resultan muy curiosas y llamativas. En musicovery lo primero que encuentras es el panel que veis a la izquierda, a partir de tu selección en la que puedes escoger música más oscura, positiva, energética o relajante, además del estilo y la época, Musicovery crea un recorrido de canciones para que escuches, por supuesto si alguna no te gusta puedes pasarla y escuchar la siguiente. Además, Musicovery también permite que te registres para seleccionar tus canciones favoritas y las que no te gustan.

Junto a la pestaña de "ambiente" que se ve en la imagen, también está la de "dance" en la que se puede seleccionar música más o menos rápida, así como más o menos "bailable". Musicovery es una buena forma de descubrir nueva música que pueda gustarte además de ser una herramienta excelente para escuchar algo acorde con lo que te apetezca gracias a las selecciones que te permite realizar la web.

Stumbleaudio <>>>> Stumbleaudio es poco conocido pero es un buen portal donde descubrir música prácticamente desconocida pero que no por ello deja de ser buena, además tiene una interfaz muy atractiva como se puede ver en la imagen de abajo:

Como se ve en la imagen Stumbleaudio permite comprar la canción que estás escuchando de forma rápida y sencilla, como Musicovery y last.fm permite registrarse para guardar tus canciones favoritas. Además permite seleccionar entre muchos estilos que son los que se aprecian a la izquierda de la imagen.

Qualunque sia la risposta a tali "marzulliane" domande, dobbiamo constatare di trovarci di fronte a un binomio indissolubile di cui bisogna tener conto. Perchè i Village People forse non sarebbero ben accolti all'apice della disperazione e The Verve con "The Drugs Don`t Work" (la canzone più triste degli ultimi vent'anni secondo il Rolling Stone) potrebbe devastare la fantastica giornata di Pollyanna.

La migliore soluzione è suddividere le nostre cartelle mp3 sul pc con tanto sudore e dovizia maniacale oppure una radio che sceglie per noi la musica in base all'umore del momento.

Musicovery è una webradio a cui puoi segnalare il tuo particolare stato d'animo modulandone l'intensità  verso dark, energetic, positive, oppure calm.

Fatto questo clicchi sul tuo genere preferito (jazz, gospel, blues, metal, roc, pop disco, r&b, classica, colonna sonora o soul...) e scegli l'annata che più ti rappresenta (wertherica naturalmente ha optato per un mood dark anni '80, facendo il pieno di soft cell, smiths, cure e faith no more). E' presente anche un'opzione per ascoltare brani meno conosciuti al posto delle hits e la possibilità di salvare nella memoria i brani favoriti o bannare quelli che non sono stati di nostro gradimento.

Musicovery è una sorta di webradio che trasmette in streaming on line. Potrete ascoltare musica, senza il bisogno di registrarvi, in base ai vostri generi preferiti e soprattutto potrete comunicare il vostro stato d'animo. Musicovery vi fornirà una mappa di canzoni selezionate in base alle vostre richieste, un percorso musicale in tempo reale.

Potrete scoprire anche tanti brani interessanti di cui non conoscete nemmeno il nome o brani ascoltati ma poi dimenticati.

I think the point of his post, that there is a difference between beating the system and working the system is generally sound. I would quibble, instead with the analogy.

As a 20 year veteran of Ultimate Frisbee, I've always found that the "spirit of the game" claim is nothing more than marketing that serves more to make ultimate players feel their game is superior to other sports.

Nearly all sports, except ultimate, have referees. However, ultimate hints at superiority over other sports because they're all level-headed and fair enough to call their own rules transgressions. The only problem is that though the sport may claim those things, it is still played by human beings... the same humans who compete in other sports - and in business.

My experience has been that show me a competitive ultimate game, and I'll show you a call made by a player that leads to a game-stopping, ill-will driving (and possibly entire-team-involving) delay. Whereas other sports would have an impartial referee call infractions so the game can stop, reset and move on, even the highest levels of ultimate can devolve to a pick-up game level argument that interrupts the game.

Systems evolve due largely to human behavior. Ultimate Frisbee, instead, adheres to the belief that they can use an outdated system that has long since been discredited by those who game the system.

Seth's analogy also falls apart because many players learn the rules simply so they can use them against the other team. Take this example:

I played in a tournament in which one of our players caught the frisbee in the endzone for a point. There was no disagreement that she was in. However, our player didn't know she was in, so she threw it to another of our players who was "more" in. That player let the disc hit the ground because he knew the point had already scored.

The opposing team called us out on a little known rule that said if the player doesn't know their in, then the point doesn't count. This was 11 years ago, so I'm not sure if that rule still exists.

So, which is a greater display of "spirit" - to learn the most obscure rules and use them against a competitor or to allow a point that was scored legitimately and without incident to count?

There's a fine line between gaming the system and working the system, and NewTunes hopes only to play within the system. There are a lot music discovery websites out there - Pandora, Musicovery, to name a few. We're not afraid of them, nor are we trying to beat them.

Music discovery is a big space, and we're pretty sure there's room for all of us - and then some. There are enough musicians and enough fans that I think we can all enjoy success in this industry.

Idag hade jag utvecklingssamtal och fick som vanligt höra att jag är en positiv tjej och att det går bra för mig. Fick även veta att jag igår fått komplimanger från ett väldigt oväntat håll. Alltid trevligt. Per försökte få min pappa över till sin sida och tvinga mig att läsa matte C. Jag är inte alls pepp på det, jag börjar fundera på riktigt nu på att välja det. Men när jag tänker lite mer på det - är det egentligen värt det? Per hade frågat min mattelärare Magnus precis innan utvecklingssamtalet om jag hade klarat matte C. G - självklart, Vg - troligen, Mvg - möjligt hade han svarat. Men jag bryr mig egentligen inte. Jag behöver inte matte C för jag ska inte plugga något naturvetenskapligt efter gymnasiet. Per säger att det gör mig smartare, men jag vill inte bli smartare, det är inte värt att gå upp tidigt och plugga som ett djur. De säger att matte C är enklare än B - men det går inte bra för mig i matte B ska jag berätta...

Förövrigt pratade vi om praktiken i trean. Per sa att han pratat med en kille på reklambyrån Attraction, om jag ger ett gott intryck finns det en chans att jag får praktik där. Ingen press - allt hänger på mig. Jag vill verkligen det, det hade varit grymt roligt. Per sa att det finns ingen bransch inom media som är så mansdominerad som reklambranschen. Jag ligger lite risigt till där; jag är av det kvinnliga könet och jag är väldigt kort. Han sa att jag måste visa att jag inte är den där lilla tjejen som jag ser ut att vara. It made me feel good!

Annars fortsätter jag att dregla efter min Asus Eee PC. Det ser inte ljusare ut på den fronten. Pappa tror att jag kommer bli besviken om jag köper en och vill därför inte beställa en till mig. Men jag fortsätter kämpa!

Nas rádios on-line o ouvinte escolhe o que quer ouvir, ao contrário da passividade das tradicionais. Além de várias informações sobre a música, em muitas delas tem-se total controle da programação. Simples: não gostou, muda pra outra música.

Grande exemplo é a Yahoo!Music, onde escolhe-se qual estilo ou até qual intérprete deseja ouvir. O site possui um enorme repertório a disposição, com um diferencial de poder dar notas a músicas, álbuns ou cantores enquanto ouve. Isso define com qual freqüência estas serão reproduzidas.

Algumas apenas transmitem seus programas via web, como a Woxy.com, uma rádio de música alternativa de Ohio, antiga 97X, antes tradicional e agora on-line.

Outra totalmente diferente é a Musicovery. Tudo funciona a base de cores. Podem-se escolher quais os estilos ou se a música é mais dançante, positiva ou energética, por exemplo. O formato da sua lista de reprodução é em balões interligados, cada um colorido de acordo ao estilo pertencente.

Rádio on-line é uma opção ótima (e legal) para se ouvir a música desejada no momento que quiser. Quando aparelhos portáteis equipados com wi-fi e suporte a streaming invadirem o mercado, será o fim da forma de ouvir rádios como hoje conhecemos.

Jetzt hab ich was Gescheites gefunden. Bei Musicovery braucht man nicht einen Musictitel, Interpreten oder Genre (nur bedingt) einzugeben. Einfach seine momentane Stimmung (Mood), (un-) gewünschte Musikrichtungen festlegen und evtl. das Tempo. Wenn man sich registriert kann man auch Lieder bannen oder liebhaben. Änhlich wie Last.fm. Während beim letzterem ich aber nicht so zufrieden mit der Auswahl bin, liegt bei Musicovery die "Trefferquote" meines Geschmacks bei 70-80% der gespielten Lieder. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

L'ascolto passivo, è un'approccio di tipo multitasking, nasce con lo scopo di rompere il silenzio e non presuppone nulla di più di una scelta iniziale ed un play per trascinarsi all'infinito.

L'ascolto attivo non ha mete fisse, al contrario invece quello passivo, proprio per definizione, tende a fissarsi su un'unica meta, la mattina prima di iniziare a lavorare la routine del play.
Sono ancora in fase di test ma pare ch'io abbia trovato la mia routine musicale, musicovery è un player on-line con un database molto ricco, il pregio è che la passività del play è associata a poche semplici configurazioni che rendono le playlist molto affini ai gusti dell'ascoltatore, basta scegliere umore e genere, o più semplicemente una volta inseriti alcuni brani nei preferiti lasciare decidere a musicovery in base alle affinità, sono possibili altre configurazioni ma visto che è gratis meglio testare di persona, o no?
