Mutos Switchers (pessoas que trocaram de Windows pra Mac) ou mesmo usuários novos em mac, sofrem com a acentuação.

O que acontece é o seguinte: A acentuação no Mac é diferente da acentuação no PC!

Ahm?
é, é isso mesmo! a acentuação e diferente (não é o seu "shift" que está com defeito).

Mas então, como eu acentuo no mac?

Simples! Alias... temos mais de uma opção.

A primeira e mais clássica é se acostumar com a acentuação do mac. No começo pode parecer difícil, mas depois você se acostuma, isso, pois a acentuação do mac (assim como o resto todo que o mac faz) é muito intuitiva.

Uma pequena listinha:

ç = option+c
˜ = option+n
ˆ = option+i
´ = option+e
¨ = option+u

Então notamos que obviamente, se queremos cedilha, é uma opção (modificação) da letra c (não ficou muito bem explicado, mas deu pra entender +- o que eu quis dizer né...).
O ~ é option+n, pois os americanos possuem um contato grande com o espanhol (por estarem tão perto do México e possuirem tantos latinos em seu território), que utiliza o "ñ" inúmeras vezes. Inclusive no nome da língua "español".
´ pode ser explicado por no Brasil a palavra (verbo) acentuada mais usada é o "é", não por menos né?
Para ¨ ser constuido por option+u é só lembrar que no Brasil não usamos trema em nenhuma outra letra (detalhe que o trema vai deixar de existir...).
O fato do ˆ estar localizado em option+i é por ser a última vogal que sobrou, visto que o "o" gera o símbolo do vazio (ø) e o "a" gera o "å", coisas que poucos usam. (Na verdade eu não sei o porque disso, mas como é o último a decorar e que não tem sentido, então não custa decorar só um!, mas se alguém souber ai o porque pode comentar ^^).

bom, o outro modo é:

Baixar o layout de teclado "Brasil" e "Brasileiro", que foi desenvolvido por um brasileiro. (Link do download).
Para instalar é simples. Baixe o arquivo, descompacte-o (se o mac já não fez isso pra você). Monte a imagem, copie o arquivo brasileiro.bundle para a pasta /biblioteca/keyboards layout (/library/keyboards layout).
Alguns dizem para reiniciar o computador, eu nunca precisei fazer isso no meu mac, mas pra garantir que ninguém vai vim me dizer que eu estraguei o mac dele. Então reinicie o seu mac. Abra o "internaciona" (international) no painel de controle, escolha o layout Brasil se seu teclado é us-international (não possui ç) ou brasileiro se seu teclado é ABNT (possui ç).

Sempre que os acentos não funcionarem certifique-se de que a fonte de entrada não voltou pro Inglês.

Pronto =) Teste acentuar como no windows!

Por último, a outra opção é baixar o layout "us-international" e seguir as instruções acima que também funcionam para este, sendo diferente apenas o nome do layout do teclado. Que nesse caso não há "brasileiro" (ABNT), apenas us-international.

The 'Brick' is a new manufacturing process designed by Apple to carve out laptop casings from a single block or brick of aluminum. Using lasers and water jets Apple intends to carve out a single piece laptop casing from a block of aluminum thus making the casing more robust. This new manufacturing technology would enable Apple to launch laptop designs that do not use any screws. 

That's pretty much it. By the way there is some news that Apple's next gen laptops are going to pack a mean graphics punch making those laptops more suitable as gaming rigs. The thing is games are still a bastion of Windows. So does Apple hope to lure Windows users on to its hardware? If they do it might make sense to offer a Apple laptop without the Mac OS leading to a more affordable machine.

Wie die Kollegen von 9to5Mac berichten, wird Apple wohl am 14.Oktober den "Brick" enthüllen.

9 to 5 Mac is reporting what the "BRICK" actually is.

"The MacBook Brick is a block of high-quality, aircraft grade aluminum. It is the beginning of the new Apple manufacturing process to make MacBooks. It is totally revolutionary, a game changer. One of the biggest Apple innovations in a decade.
The MacBook manufacturing process up to this point has been outsourced to Chinese or Taiwanese manufacturers like Foxconn. Now Apple is in charge. The company has spent the last few years building an entirely new manufacturing process that uses lasers and jets of water to carve the MacBooks out of a brick of aluminum."

The factory, as Jobs described it, had everything: robots, lasers, tolerances within one 10,000th of an inch, defect rates of less that 17 parts per million -- one tenth the rest of the industry's -- and the speed to turn out 60 machines a day. (link)

Now, according to a pair of reports in 9 to 5 Mac and Computerworld Blogs, Jobs has built that plant's successor: a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that is already turning out the new line of MacBook and MacBook Pros that Apple is expected to introduce on Oct. 14.

This factory, according to Seth Weintraub, a tech reporter with good sources within Apple and a knack for correctly predicting the company's next moves, is the answer to a question that has been haunting Apple watchers for the past month: What is "the Brick"?

The Brick, Weintraub says, is not a new Apple TV, a table-sized Mac, a wireless USB hub, a Windows-smashing software breakthrough -- or any of the other ideas put forward in the month of fevered speculation since Weintraub's 9-to-5 colleague Cleve Nettles first posed the question. What the Brick really is, according to Weintraub's sources, is a block of high-quality, aircraft grade aluminum out of which Apple's new laptops will be carved using robot-controlled lasers and high-powered jets of water in Jobs' new factory.

"It is totally revolutionary, a game changer," writes Weintraub. "One of the biggest Apple innovations in a decade." (link)

It may also be the answer to another mystery that has bedeviled Apple watchers -- the innovation that Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer, speaking at the last quarterly earnings conference call, warned analysts would cut deeply into Apple's near term operating margins but result in something that "Apple's competitors won't be able to match" for years to come. Weintraub paints a picture, drawn heavily from a long piece in The Mac Observer by John Martellaro, a former NASA engineer and Apple manager, of a nonpolluting, energy-efficient, wind- or solar-power plant, built in the United States, that would free Apple of its dependence on Chinese manufacturers (and unpleasant Chinese labor conditions) and fulfill Steve Jobs' long-held dream of moving Apple both up and down the value chain -- building a legacy at Apple that could survive and prosper long after he is gone.

"An Apple factory (or two), in the right place," writes Marellaro, "costing several billions would be a worthy endeavor for Apple and its cash. It would achieve the grandest goals for Apple's technical future, make a contribution to the planet and its people's well being and help insure Apple's financial and political security." (link)

Marellaro concludes on a wistful note: "But, sigh, it's just an idea"

The new MacBook Pro has been dubbed Iris, the personification of the rainbow and messenger of the gods in the Greek pantheon. An appropriate name, as she is portable and my messaging/communication portal to the world and well has having a gorgeous LED-backlit LCD display. Pearl suggested the name and I liked it.

Iris will become my primary workstation as I yet again intend on making myself truly portable. She is equipped with the standard 2.4GHz configuration. This is plenty of machine for me, though I will be upgrading the RAM to 4GB as soon as possible (Rei had 3GB - her maximum - for virtual machines).

She will be a loved machine in the new family of Macs in the house.

anyway, to get to my number 2, i have a little story.

back when i was a wee lad, every Christmas list i sent to santa, i included a 13" tv/vcr combo. back in that day, that was so unbelievably cutting edge it's insane. also back in that day, those things cost about $500. so needless to say i never got my tv/vcr.

present day-my computer is on the verge of total self destruction, and am in the process of looking at new ones. however, i am obviously holding out for a macbook pro (MBP). so therefore on my b-day list, MBP is #2 and this will probably be my tv/vcr situation for a good while.

They look very un-Apple like in design. A two tone color scheme does not appear to be something that Apple would go for. Moreover the laptops have a bit of Alienware-like feel to them. I wouldn't say they are positively ugly, but they sure don't seem to be inline with Apple's designs.

Elegimos la opcion del iMac y elegimos que version tenemos, la de 20" o la de 24" (vamos a poner la de 20" como ejemplo), tiene que tener minio 2,4Ghz de Procesador y seleccionamos en [2,4+], cuando hayamos echo click elegimos lo memoria que queremos y, ¡A pagarlo!

Lo mejor de todo es que podemos tambien apliar la memoria de los MacBook, del MacPro (¡hasta 8,0Gb!), los MacBook Pro y los Xserve, tambien los Mac's más viejos, como los iMacG5 o las PowerBooks...

Well, on Tuesday morning I got this message from Time Warner. Apparently, my mac is infected with a phantom virus/trojan/whatever. This all started less than 24 hours after hooking up a free Time Warner cable modem to my Airport Extreme Base Station. Nothing is ever free. I am currently weighing my high speed internet options for my area. AT&T is looking good.
