Well, it's just a theory, but not the first time I've come across it. This video is from Japanese TV, so it's of course overly dramatic, but it's a really interesting video. There are a lot of similarities and coincidences at work here, and just enough to make you go "hmm... Maaaybe..."

I have been sentenced to talk and write about the Jews, and yes they have the power to do such thing

I have been sentenced to talk and write about the Jews, and yes they have the power to do such things.

I went to Israel amidst the euphoria of Oslo. Rabin and Peres were championing peace.

As the Politics changed, so did my attitude. But the Jewish Israeli gang said, 'where are you going? You cannot walk away'.

It is a daily struggle filled with time wasters and false associations. After all, the meaning of life is being Jewish, outside of that there is only deviance and corruption.

They wear you down, and like God they decide on everything. Who lives who dies, who earns who doesn't. Imagine a great Sun storm obliterating the radio waves on earth (it does happen). Or the Jewish empire cascading down to being an equal to everyone else.

Maybe I am a dreamer. But there is nothing dreamlike in my daily hurdles. It can always be clearly demonstrated that everyone is corruptible. Such is the strength of the Jewish empire.

Want to sell weapons? Want to be in the Mafia?

All that is required is to revel in Jewishness. To be fair I can see both sides. If I saw a Palestinian or any other nationality sell out his or her own people, I would not be sympathetic to them. But I never wished to sell out the Jews. I have wished to walk away from them, from organised judaism.

That is not allowed, of course my situation upon any enquiry, is that I have been banished. The reality is: banished from any rightesnous (jewish or otherwise), availble only to be with the rif raf. Presumably one can repent, become religious, regain one's jewishness.

So I have been walking for 15 years, harangued by people who wish to ensure that relationships based on trust cannot occur. I am generally daily stitched up or associated with all manner of crimes. I am a non person, supposedly banished, yet not allowed any descent associations.

Gays Criminals Zionists And Neocons I am allowed, no one else. They take over one's family friends income and everything else. Bugged tagged and cctv'd. Sound like I'm crazy? No this is the modern world, and this is how everything is unfolding.

Whether it is congress making the bailout or the US bombing the Iraqis. Everyone has to slip under the pyramidical yoke.

This too shall pass. But so many wasted lives. Always smiling faces. It's the NWO.

24/7 surveillance means: sitting at a bus stop, going to the laundromat, doing absolutely anything requires that one is seen to be involved in something shady. In the name of God and Israel there can be no freedom and no individuality.

These fascist times will pass. It is the age of disappearing people and false suicides. Zealous maniacs. I have done my service, paid my dues. There have been undue processes. All that is clear is that there has to be interference in any form of concentration. The word concentration is the biggest enemy of the Jews. Any sign of it has to be interfered with. It is a religious obligation.

Well the powerful keep well away from the public eye. Manipulating people and looking at CCTV and listening to bugs. And they have the power. And all that matters is the faith.

Why is it, when regimes change, pardons are given to prisoners? Probably because lots of them have been stitched up. There is a ruling strata of society that is above the law. Where crime or law is has no distinction.

I met a woman many years ago, her father had been a Freemason, and when he died they completely took over the funeral arrangements, they wouldn't allow her any say in the proceedings. Now to the best of my knowledge I have nothing to do with the Freemasons. But it is an example of how much power certain groups of people can have.

One grews weak and tired of it, it goes on every day, after years of it you know you have little power over events. And you get used to people coming up to you to be seen with you. The free soul less west.

[laportelatine.org]

In the conclusion of their article titled “Saudi Arabia Backgrounder: Who Are the Islamists?” the International Crisis Group argues that the threat of Islamic extremists toppling the Saudi regime has “…been widely overblown…” by Western nations such as the United States. In addition, they go on to argue: “Another potential recruitment source [for jihadists] will be returnees from the struggle against the U.S. in Iraq…” a situation which mimics the Afghan War against the Soviet Union after which jihadists returned to Saudi Arabia with a new “…highly militaristic, violent worldview…” The article then goes to on to cite centrist groups as being the only feasible alternative to the rise of Islamic extremist ideology, underlining the true concern associated with the severe restraint and thus decline such groups have experienced due to U.S. policy to establish what Secretary Rice calls a “‘new Middle East.’” This New York Times article outlines the various U.S. initiatives that have proved troubling for moderates throughout the region[1]. U.S. support for Israel in its battle with Hezbollah has drawn attention to what some Muslims view as “inconsistencies” in U.S. policy which lead the nation to only defend its interests with no regard for morality, making any views that could be cited as “western” difficult to defend. U.S. support of repressive governments who happen to be allies have stunted attempts for true democratic reform. The Iraq War has fueled anti-U.S. sentiment and distracted Iraq’s neighbors from important internal progress on such issues as women’s rights. Finally, new anti-terrorism laws initiated on behalf of already repressive regimes acting as allies of the U.S. in the “War on Terror,” are cited as having limited the free speech of moderate groups throughout the region.

The article states that “[t]he very people whom the United States wanted to encourage to promote democracy from Bahrain to Casablanca instead feel trapped…” and argues the U.S. is “‘destroying the region in order to save it.’” All of this evidence leads one to a possible conclusion that often proves to be controversial in political circles within the U.S.: perhaps the “War on Terror” is a failed policy. Seven years after its initiation, the strategy of zero-tolerance for extremists has only proved to be used as a convenient political tool by dictators and despots fearful of losing power. If the U.S. is taking actions that are facilitating recruitment efforts for groups such as al-Qaeda and favoring authoritarian regimes over more liberal ones, then it is indeed losing the philosophical battle that will determine the orientation of generations to come. Thus, a strong reevaluation of Middle East policy is in order.

The endless Middle East conflict has been a headache to the world. The world does not seem to unders

The endless Middle East conflict has been a headache to the world. The world does not seem to understand why in the modern age where peace is a common value, there is still much disharmony in the Middle East Region. Bush, the American president, has also stress that there is common vision of peace among Israel and his Middle East neighbour and remain optimistic. Yet Israel mentioned full scale military operation into Iran to destroy nuclear weapon yesterday, stall hopes of peace once again. As usual, American aillies, Israel, is conflicting American low oil price interest once again with the oil price spike immediately because of the proposed possible war that may led to oil supplies disruption.

Many people on the street may exclaim: why Israel and its same neighbour remains stubborn in taking a step backward despite their common vision of peace? Maybe it is religious affairs, remember Jerusalem is the prize of the games of war. It is nothing new as they have been wrestling over it for centuries. One Hollywood movie said: “Jerusalem is nothing and everything”. With Jew minority having it, how could the majority Muslim give it up and live in enjoy over losing their holy city. There is some truth in the previous statement in the previous statement. One holy city is sacred and cannot be shared by different religion and faith which accused each other to be false. But there is a pause: where is the christian claim over its Holy city? Isn’t the christian waiting for christ in Jerusalem? Why would any religion followers( Muslim, Jew, Christan)hunger for Jerusalem without God order or defy their god arrangement?

Therefore, everything in politics is more than meet the eyes. In my opinion, the root of Middle East instability is Middle East itself, the revival of a powerful Middle East. Whether they are the past Ottoman Empire, Achaemenid Persian Empire or Macedonian Empire, any combination of the block spell doom formation in the world. Defying Alexandra the Great wisdom of “divided and conquer” would result in defeats by unions. The immediate threat of invasion would be Middle East neighbour Europe, followed India, China or Africa, not mentioning other form of conflict. The British Empire understands the situation and it has somehow facilicated the creation of Iraq, Iran and other Middle East nation, dissolving Ottoman Empire, allowing peace and oil trade. An united Middle East will result in conflict of interest with their large neighbours. Located in less strategetic position for settlement, Middle East sits in the middle of the world among large continents such as Africa Europe & Asia. It has military and trade advantage of expansion which was also its main disadvantage. It is a contestable region or junction in which powerful continents empire need to battle in order to cross over to the other side of the world. It can act as a passage way or a barrier for expansion both in trade and milliary purposes. In view of its importance, it is often a political football which all players are keen to kick. Any outside third party would like to split the middle east which mean dividing their common interest to align and purse the new third party interest. If not, the aftermath maybe unfavourable like Opec which now refuse to lower oil prices. If cheap oil is needed to be avaliable in tight supply market, then the option has to be submissive parties or great bargaining power. Free market does not exist in reality. Thus, the disunifed Middle East has been plotted in centuries and today middle east conflict involving Israel, Iran, Syria, palestinain is the fruit of wonderful strategist. They can never have peace unless the balance of power in the region become a sole power. Some day, the region will united under one powerful nation, there will be peace. In mean time, false peace is encourage by third party to keep balance of power and forever disunity.

The Age: North Korea may lose terror label

and News.com.au: US, india sign historic nuclear deal

Are both reporting from Washington (at least The Age names their Washington correspondent) that acquiring nuclear weapons will bring tangible rewards to your government. Now, perhaps in light of their attacks on or ambivalence to nuclear treaties (the NPT and CTBT) this is not surprising, but it certainly is worrying. Particularly if you are Iran.

There is no evidence that Iran is persuing a nuclear weapons program - despite the fact they'd be insane not to, when two nuclear powers routinely threaten them - and indeed plenty of evidence to the contrary. Yet Iran continues to be threatened with war. Meanwhile two countries who have acquired nukes through questionable means, with highly questionable governments (paricularly in the case of North Korea) are being rewards - seemingly for their possessing of nuclear deterrents. India continues to be one of the most unstable and bellicose nuclear powers -behind only Israel and Pakistan. North Korea, while they should be engaged, are certainly a far worse regime than Iran. Its just MAD...

Yet, despite Iran's co-operation with the IAEA, having not started a war in 2000 years, and the current (abhorrent) crackpot regime being somewhat better than the previous (US-backed) Shah it is Iran who is targeted.
Next time you read about Iran's nuclear program, remember - they don't have nukes yet, otherwise they'd be rewarded.

But I can now confirm that Mr Denham and I will both be hopping on a train and attending tomorrow's Bunfight at the OK Corral between Sean Matgamna and Moshe Machover. It sounded too deliciously entertaining to miss, and has therefore tempted us away from our usual Sunday routine of mulling over the news and bemoaning the state of the left at the local boozer. That, and the fact that the meeting's being held in a pub helps.

Although mind you, in all seriousness I do think it's actually an interesting and important debtate. Contrary to what Stroppy and Dave (both of whom are likely to attend) have written on the subject, I don't see debates like this as a diversion from the class struggle or such like. I think that debates about stances like this one (for those of you who don't know, Sean is defending his - in my view bizarre - stance on a hypothetical Israeli war on Iran) are actually important in terms of clarifying what we as socialists and progressives think about world political questions. If those debates become heated then in my view it's not sectarianism or aggression to do so, but actually a sign that the participants are passionate about their politics. And there's nowt wrong with that.

Guardian Held Hostage by Islamophobic Pressure Group

In what can only be described as a shocking glimpse into Zionist lobbying at the heart of British media, the Guardian last week dismissed an Iranian contributor after a group of pro-war, Islamophobic Neocons accused her of anti-Semitism.

Soraya Terani, an Iranian mother who lives and works in London at a children’s charity, was commissioned to write 2 pieces to Comment Is Free (CIF) chronicling the routine horrors endured by Arab women whose lives have been ravaged by the US and Israeli invasion. But then, due to mounting pressure from Zionist “watchdogs” and blogs her pieces were dropped. Seemingly, Terani also posted comments on an open blog forum which, according to editor Matt Seaton, betrayed all the hallmarks of ‘anti-Semetic racist discourse’.

The media of Europe expects to be able to 'dump' on groups of people it chooses, Muslims, Asians, Africans, et.al and to censure others for dumping on groups of their choosing, the Vatican, Jews and Israel. The hypocrisy is rather stark and obvious and I'm sure the editors and reporters know this, but agenda driven journalism makes it easy to forget.

It is the 35th anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Do you remember where you were when you heard that Egypt and Syria had pulled off a surprise attack on Israel? Most American Jews were home fasting or at the synagogue.

I was in the sky over Teterboro New Jersey in N5718U, a Piper Cherokee 140, learning to fly with my instructor William Levy. One of the navigational devices in that plane was an automatic direction finder. An ADF is an enhanced AM radio receiver that also shows you your bearing relative to the radio tower broadcasting the signal you tune in. These towers are marked on your chart. With a little mental jiu-jitsu you can figure out where you are, which is useful to a pilot. As a side benefit you can listen to the radio.

That is how and where Bill and I, two apostate Jews, heard the news bulletin on WABC Radio 660 that Israel had been attacked.

Robert Weitzel, Oct 10, 2008

“I was the first who wanted to impose Israeli sovereignty . . . I admit it . . . I was not ready to look into all the depths of reality.”
- Incumbent Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert -

In a September 30 article in the Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Ahronot, Israel’s incumbent Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, a former member of the right-wing Likud party, said that Israel must withdraw “from almost all of the territories, if not from all the territories. We shall keep in our hands a percentage of these territories, but we shall be compelled to give the Palestinians a similar percentage, because without that there will be no peace.”

He went on to say, “We can perhaps take an historic step in our relations with the Palestinians . . . the decision we must make is the decision we have refused to face with open eyes for 40 years . . . What I am telling you was never said by any previous Israeli leader, it’s time to lay everything on the table.”

The reality that Olmert was willing to lay before the Israeli people, “which exposed him to criticism from all quarters,” according to Yedioth Ahronot interviewers Nahum Barnea and Shimon Shiffer, is one that no Democratic or Republican politician who aspires to national office has the chutzpa to tell the American electorate.

This lack of chutzpah has been nowhere more evident than in the presidential and vice-presidential “debates.” These prime-time events, which are really nothing more than 90 minutes of vacuous one-upmanship, could serve as a reality check for the 70 million-plus viewers if the moderators were willing to challenge the candidates’ evasions, half truths, exaggerations and outright lies . . . or if Ralph Nader were allowed to participate.

During the vice-presidential debate, both Joe Biden and Sarah Palin professed their undying love and support for Israel, “our strongest and best ally in the Middle East (Palin).”

“No one in the United States Senate has been a better friend to Israel . . . (Biden).”

“I’m so encouraged to know that we both love Israel (Palin).”

One-upping Palin, Biden boldly claimed, “I would have never, ever joined this ticket were I not absolutely sure Barack Obama shared my passion [for Israel].” Obviously, Obama does.

Moderator Gwen Ifill might have taken this opportunity to inquire as to the source of Palin’s “love” and Biden’s “passion” for Israel. Ifill might have pointed out to the 70 million-plus viewers that a candidate does not make it to a national “debate” without first being pronounced kosher by Israel’s shadow government on K Street.

Both Ifill and Tom Brokaw, the moderator of the recent town hall presidential “debate,” might have challenged the candidates’ assertions that Israel is a hairs’ breath away from annihilation by its Arab neighbors.

“An armed, nuclear armed . . . Iran is so extremely dangerous to consider. They cannot be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons period. Israel is in jeopardy . . . (Palin).”

“We cannot allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon . . . it [would] threaten Israel, our strongest ally in the region and one of our strongest allies in the world . . . (Obama).”

Keep in mind that U.S. intelligence estimates that Iran is years away from developing even one nuclear device, while Israel has over 200 nuclear warheads targeted and minutes away from any Arab or Persian country foolish enough to attack it.

Keep in mind also what Olmert told Yedioth Ahronot, “Israel is the strongest country in the Middle East, it can win any war against any regional country, it can even win a war against all of them together.”

All four candidates took the opportunity during the “debates” to once again assure Israelis in the Holy Land and Jews on K Street that their administrations would continue the annual $6 billion in direct and indirect economic and military aid . . . even as Americans are losing their homes and jobs and retirement savings.

Ifill and Brokaw might have challenged the candidates’ promise of continued economic and military aid to Israel considering:

Israel is one of the most economically and industrially advanced countries in Southwest Asia.

Israel ranks second among foreign countries in the number of companies on U.S. stock exchanges.

Israel has the second largest number of startup companies in the world and the largest number of NASDAQ-listed companies outside North America.

Israel’s GDP per capita is $31,767

Israel’s economic growth in 2006 was the fastest of any Western nation.

Israel has the best armed and trained military in the region and is the fourth largest weapons exporter in the world ($2 billion annually)

And the United States’ taxpayers are expected to finance Israel?

But the “depth of reality” check of utmost salience to the 70 million-plus “debate” viewers is why the candidates and most members of Congress consider Israel our “strongest ally in the world.”

In 1982 Israel invaded Lebanon, igniting a civil war. America’s support for Israel cost the lives of 241 servicemen who were blown apart as they slept in their Beirut barracks.

Israel did not fight in the first Gulf War, neither did its soldiers die in Afghanistan or Iraq—a war its cooked intelligence helped to bring about. This year our “strongest ally” pushed the Bush administration to the brink of war with Iran—a war whose catastrophic reverberations would have been on a par with the current global economic meltdown.

Israel’s regional aggression and its repressive—often brutal— domestic policies regarding the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank inflames its Arab neighbors and cinches tight the explosive vest to the chests of Arab youths.

Predictably, the United States’ irrational and unconditional support of Israel makes it equally culpable and equally target-worthy in the eyes of Arabs and Persians in the Middle East and Muslims worldwide. An ally that causes more insecurity than succor can hardly be considered the strongest ally in the world—unless that ally is also the only way to the White House.

Gwen Ifill and Tom Brokaw might have challenged the candidates in a way that exposed him or her to criticism from the Israeli quarter. Unfortunately for the 70 million-plus viewers Israel is a “depth of reality” the American political system and mainstream media are unwilling to plumb.

But as a right-wing Israeli Prime Minister says, “it’s time to lay everything on the table.”

Sameh Akram Habeeb

In November 2006 a horrible war crime was committed in the Gaza Strip by Israeli army. The operation was not directed to some militants who were heading to fight Israel, but for an extended poor family! A neaby military operation was running by the same army in which they bulldozed farms, crushed cars and uprooted trees and streets. I remember the place of action as well as every single detail. I want to tell you again what has happened as I am encouraged, but not satisfied by what Archbishop Desmond Tutu said adter his visit of investigation to Gaza. He was too late to investigate a massacre after 2 years, but it's better than nothing! He stigmatized Israel indirectly and held her responsible for that offence on civilians.

"In the absence of a well-founded explanation from the Israeli military - which is in sole possession of the relevant facts - the mission must conclude that there is a possibility that the shelling of Beit Hanoun constituted a war crime," Tutu said in his report to the 47-member council.

Tutu also said that rockets fired by Palestinian militants into southern Israel should stop and should be investigated. "Those firing rockets on Israeli civilians are no less accountable than the Israeli military for their actions," he said.

"It is not too late for an independent, impartial and transparent investigation of the shelling to be held," Tutu said.

After the incident, Israel's military said the shelling into Beit Hanoun that day was a mistake and was the result of a "rare and severe failure in the artillery fire-control system" which created "incorrect range-findings". It said the shells had been aimed 450 metres away from the edge of town. No legal action was taken against any officer. However, it is unclear why the artillery was fired so close to a residential area that morning and why shells continued to be fired after the first one hit the Athamna house.

Full story of Tutu's report:

The investigation helped me to remember what I have witnessed that day. I went there quickly and I saw a slaughter. Blood was on walls, houses, streets and all over the place. The smell of Israeli weapons was mixed with blood and burned flesh of children and old people. Women, men, old people and children were lamenting and weeping. Around 18 civilians were killed that day in addition to injuring many others. Those who remained alive have either lost their limps or suffered other severe injuries by the hit.

A friend of mine, M.A, has written a story and a testimony of that day. Below are some accounts of her story. To be more authenticated I have brought you a unique collection of photos from another friend, N. L. For me, it was not appropriate to let this story remain silent. I had to revive this horrific account again because so many people have not heared of it, nor informed correctly of the slaughter. It is time that people see what is really going on, how lives are destroyed, pain endured and hopefully by reading M.A.'s article, people will awaken from their slumber, empathize with those suffering and begin to learn, seek further information on this genocide and take more humanitarian steps towards resolution and ending suffering.

Additionally, the story can be seen in photo format at

Accounts and witness

"We entered the street; house number 71 has a sad story as well as all other houses in the area. It is the house of Basem Al Kafarnah. He was killed at his own doorstep while he was screaming calling for an ambulance for the injured who were thrown all over the street. Basem is a father for 5 little girls, the eldest of them is 7 years old and the mother is a bout to give birth to her 6th baby. We are not sure that when she delivers her baby she can also download her sadness and wounds on the loss of her lover, who left her alone; a prey for her pains and fears over her 6 weak children who rely on Allah and then her for support.

Basem fell down here, the shell destroyed the entrance of the house and broken the inner walls. Should you see the photo of Basem, you will surly know that he doesn't need a shell of that size to take his life away and to bury the dreams of his children. The scene ended here, or may be it has jut began; five children who did not yet realize the true meaning of life, but gulped the bitterness of death and lived it with every tiny detail and lineament.

The next house belongs to Mrs. Ne'ma Al Athamnah. She was killed with her daughter Sana'. They both were widows and they were the only remaining hope for their orphans. Now the hope is buried with those who were buried. Nehad, Mrs. Nema's daughter in law was also killed, and her four children were all injured and three of them are still lying in hospitals after they lost some of their limps.

Umayh, the daughter of Mrs. Ne'ma was also injured she lost a leg and the other was smashed while her hand was broken and she is undergoing treatment in Egypt. Her husband Sameer Mas'oud Al Athamnah was killed and they left behind a very lovely and cute little girl called Malak (Angel). This pretty angel was attacked by splinters on that bloody day which refused to leave her alone, but left its ugly stamp on here face. It could not go away without leaving a token on the innocent body.

Iyad the son of Mrs. Ne'ma has injuries to both his legs and he may never be able to walk again. His wife Inas is still at hospital recovering from her wounds and burns, Pray to Allah for her to overcome her nervous breakdown, as her son Ahmed has a critical injury in his head, may Allah save him.

And so and so
A severed leg here…..
A chopped hand there…..
Slivers in a head……

A group of women gathered around me each of them is trying to tell her piece of the story, which rived them all in pieces, they thrown it all at us, to bring it together.

Nisreen, Nem'a's daughter said "My mother, Manal and Fatima Mas'oud the three of them turned to piles of burnet and torn flesh. We collected what's left of them from the walls, doors and tree leaves, and then put them in buckets carrying their names. We recognized them from pieces of their clothes which were stuck to their burned flesh." And that's how they left.

The scene is not over yet ladies and gentleman and I believe it will never come to an end.

We moved to the next house, expecting new tale or tales. The stories sounded similar, but the amount of death in each story was different.
A sandy path separates the houses of the brothers Sa'd and Mas'oud Al Athamnah from that of their cousin. Nine shells fell over the house, yes nine; this is not a misprint or a slip of the pen.

Take notes please, ladies and gentlemen:

The first shell struck the house between the second and third floors and its victims were the grandmother, Fatima Al Athamnah 78, her son Mas'oud 52, his son Samir Mas'oud 23, his daughter Fatima 18 and his second wife Sabah 40. No it is not only the names and ages of those who departed, it is not a simple question, it is rather a real tragedy where blood was mixed with the burnt flesh and the crushed bones. So please don't pass by the names simply as these people were alive one day. Yes, they were living a simple life, but the last moments of their life were catastrophic. They died in a savage way that did not befit their life style.

They didn't leave peacefully, they screamed, and called for help, tried to escape the perfidy of the savage tool, which kept going after them until it pulled their souls away ruthlessly. It turned them into pieces and deprived them the peace of the last moments.

When the rest of the thirty residents heard the explosion of the first shell, they hurried up to the street or that sandy path if you still can remember it, yes, and there a new chapter of the tragedy was recorded. The shill hit the wall of the second floor and exploded into burning slivers to harvest the souls of all those who were in the street, escaping the death which insisted to follow them. Blazing iron polluted with radiant substances dissolved the flesh, and with it dissolved every nice memory in the heads of those who remained a live. The shell harvested the souls of Mohammed 16, Mahdi 17, and Arafat 18 the sons of Sa'd and Hayat Al Athamnah. Mrs. Hayat was standing beside us, firm as a rock while telling the story of the departure of her children.

"I saw Mahdi, his head was wide open and I could see his brain laying to his side. I called him, but received no answer, so I said, may Allah rest your soul. I then saw my son Mohammed. His body was burned out and deformed and I called him, but only silence answered me, so I said may Allah rest your soul.

I ran out from the shelling to a nearby allay, there I found my son Arafat, he was in half a body and the lower half was completely ruptured and his guts were dangling on the ground. I said Arafat, my baby, sweetheart, go with your brothers, they have all left, he pulled his head up and looked at himself then he started collecting his flesh and put in on what remained of his abdomen.

….
Yes, he was a live and looking at me. He then passed away in the hospital.

Many meanings vanished inside me….they were getting smaller and smaller, while Mrs. Hayat was telling her story. The words sadness and pain were devoid from their meaning and words like patience and faith declined in front of this indescribable lady.

She continued talking constantly …. The shelling continued… Another shell pulled out the soul of her grandson Mahmoud Majdi Al Athamnah 12. The shell stroke the balcony of the room where he was sleeping in the fourth floor. Another one broken into from the roof, they both gathered on the tiny body and the canine of death extracted him from his worm bed along with his cousin Ahmed, 10. I'm sure that the same question occurred to you, since when the soft bodies need tons of iron to harvest them!!!!!

Another shell….and another. The new victim is Manal, the wife of Ramiz Mas'oud, 26. She was killed with her two daughters, Maysa', 9 months and Maram, 3 years, but their brother Abdullah is still at the hospital as he lost his left hand. Mrs. Hayat said "We found the head of Maram at the entrance of the path and the body was at its end"

If you are still with us, please keep going. This is the home of Mohammed Al Athamnah, the cousin of Sa'd and Mas'oud Al Athamnah. He rushed up to call for ambulances, but he had very little time to do any thing. Instead, the ambulances carried his dead body as the perfidious shells followed him, leaving behind 5 little buds, I mean kids.

Another chapter of the tragic day… Mrs. Hayat began to count the injuries, her husband and their son Abdul Mohaymen are lying at hospitals in Egypt in critical situation. They are injured in the back and nick and many slivers still inhabit their bodies. The hand of her grandson Mohammed was cut off and remained there on the ground of the horrible sandy path long before somebody took it to its final abode. Hayat said "I saw the hand of Mohammed on the floor. I recognized it from his watch, which was warped around it; it was also carrying a mobile phone and a hand bag.

Because there is no universally accepted standard in the West for transliterating Arabic words and names into English, bin Laden's name is transliterated in many ways. The version often used by most English-language mass media is Osama bin Laden. Most American government agencies, including the FBI and CIA, use either Usama bin Laden or Usama bin Ladin, both of which are often abbreviated to UBL. Less common renderings include Ussamah Bin Ladin and Oussama Ben Laden (French-language mass media). The latter part of the name can also be found as Binladen or Binladin.

Strictly speaking, Arabic linguistic conventions dictate that he be referred to as "Osama" or "Osama bin Laden", not "bin Laden," as "Bin Laden" is not used as a surname in the Western manner, but simply as part of his name, which in its entirety means "Osama, son of Mohammed, son of 'Awad, son of Laden". However, the bin Laden family (or "Binladin", as they prefer to be known) do generally use the name as a surname in the Western style. Consequently "bin Laden" has become nearly universal in Western references to him, Arabic convention notwithstanding.

Bin Laden also has several commonly used aliases and nicknames, including the Prince, the Sheikh, Al-Amir, Abu Abdallah, Sheikh Al-Mujahid, the Lion Sheik, the Director, Imam Mehdi and Samaritan.

Osama bin Laden was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In a 1998 interview, he gave his birth date as 10 March 1957. His father Muhammed Awad bin Laden was a wealthy businessman with close ties to the Saudi royal family. Osama bin Laden was born the only son of Muhammed bin Laden's tenth wife, Hamida al-Attas. Osama's parents divorced soon after he was born, according to Khaled M. Batarfi. Osama's mother then married Muhammad al-Attas. The couple had four children, and Osama lived in the new household with three stepbrothers and one stepsister.

Bin Laden was raised as a devout Sunni Muslim. From 1968 to 1976 he attended the "élite" secular Al-Thager Model School. Bin Laden studied economics and business administration at King Abdulaziz University. Some reports suggest bin Laden earned a degree in civil engineering in 1979, or a degree in public administration in 1981. Other sources describe him as having left university during his third year, never completing a college degree, though "hard working." At university, bin Laden's main interest was religion, where he was involved in both "interpreting the Quran and jihad" and charitable work.

In 1974, at the age of seventeen, bin Laden married his first wife Najwa Ghanem at Latakia. Laden is reported to have married four other women and divorced two, Ali bin Laden and Abdullah. He has fathered anywhere from 12 to 24 children.

Bin Laden believes that the restoration of Sharia law will set things right in the Muslim world, and that all other ideologies—"pan-Arabism, socialism, communism, democracy"—must be opposed. He believes Afghanistan under the rule of Mullah Omar's Taliban was "the only Islamic country" in the Muslim world. Bin Laden has consistently dwelt on the need for jihad to right what he believes are injustices against Muslims perpetrated by the United States and sometimes by other non-Muslim states, the need to eliminate the state of Israel, and the necessity of forcing the US to withdraw from the Middle East. He has also called on Americans to "reject the immoral acts of fornication (and) homosexuality, intoxicants, gambling, and usury," in an October 2002 letter.

Probably the most controversial part of Bin Laden's ideology is that civilians, including women and children, can be killed in jihad. Shia have been listed along with "Heretics, ... America and Israel," as the four principal "enemies of Islam" at ideology classes of bin Laden's Al-Qaeda organization.

As a Wahhabi, bin Laden opposes music on religious grounds, and his attitude towards technology is mixed. He is interested in "earth-moving machinery and genetic engineering of plants", on the one hand, but rejects "chilled water" on the other.

By 1984, with Azzam, bin Laden established Maktab al-Khadamat, which funneled money, arms and Muslim fighters from around the Arabic world into the Afghan war. Through al-Khadamat, bin Laden's inherited family fortune paid for air tickets and accommodation, dealt with paperwork with Pakistani authorities and provided other such services for the jihad fighters. During this time bin Laden met his future al-Qaeda collaborator Ayman al-Zawahiri, who encouraged Osama to split away from Abdullah Azzam.
By 1988, bin Laden had split from Maktab al-Khidamat; while Azzam acted as support for Afghan fighters, Laden wanted a more military role. One of the main leading points to the split and the creation of al-Qaeda was the insistence of Azzam that Arab fighters be integrated among the Afghan fighting groups instead of forming their separate fighting force. Bin Laden returned to Saudi Arabia in 1990 as a hero of jihad, who along with his Arab legion, "had brought down the mighty superpower" of the Soviet Union. However, during this time Iraq invaded Kuwait and Laden met the Crown Prince Sultan of Saudi Arabia, and told him not to depend on non-Muslim troops and offered to help defend Saudi Arabia. Bin Laden was rebuffed and publicly denounced Saudi Arabia's dependence on the US military.
Bin Laden moved to Sudan in 1992 and established a new base for Mujahideen operations in Khartoum.
In May 1996, under increasing pressure from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United States on Sudan, bin Laden returned to Afghanistan and forged a close relationship with Mullah Mohammed Omar.
September 11, 2001 attacks

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has stated that evidence linking Al-Qaeda and bin Laden to the attacks of September 11 is clear and irrefutable. The Government of the United Kingdom reached the same conclusion regarding Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden's culpability for the September 11, 2001, attacks. Bin Laden denied involvement in the September 11, 2001 attacks. On 16 September 2001, bin Laden read a statement later broadcast by Qatar's Al Jazeera satellite channel denying responsibility for the attack.

In a videotape recovered by US forces in November 2001 in Jalalabad, bin Laden was seen discussing the attack with Khaled al-Harbi in a way indicating foreknowledge. The tape was broadcast on various news networks on 13 December 2001. Some have disputed this translation however. Arabist Dr. Abdel El M. Husseini stated: "This translation is very problematic. At the most important places where it is held to prove the guilt of bin Laden, it is not identical with the Arabic."

Criminal charges and attempted extradition

The 9/11 Commission Report concludes, "In February 1996, Sudanese officials began approaching officials from the United States and other governments, asking what actions of theirs might ease foreign pressure. In secret meetings with Saudi officials, Sudan offered to expel bin Ladin to Saudi Arabia and asked the Saudis to pardon him. US officials became aware of these secret discussions, certainly by March. Saudi officials apparently wanted bin Ladin expelled from Sudan. They had already revoked his citizenship, however, and would not tolerate his presence in their country. Also bin Ladin may have no longer felt safe in Sudan, where he had already escaped at least one assassination attempt that he believed to have been the work of the Egyptian or Saudi regimes, or both. On 19 May 1996, bin Ladin left Sudan—significantly weakened, despite his ambitions and organizational skills. He returned to Afghanistan." The 9/11 Commission Report further states "In late 1995, when Bin Ladin was still in Sudan, the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) learned that Sudanese officials were discussing with the Saudi government the possibility of expelling Bin Ladin. US Ambassador Timothy Carney encouraged the Sudanese to pursue this course. The Saudis, however, did not want Bin Ladin, giving as their reason their revocation of his citizenship. Sudan’s minister of defense, Fatih Erwa, has claimed that Sudan offered to hand Bin Ladin over to the United States. The Commission has found no credible evidence that this was so. Ambassador Carney had instructions only to push the Sudanese to expel Bin Ladin. Ambassador Carney had no legal basis to ask for more from the Sudanese since, at the time, there was no indictment outstanding."

On 16 March 1998, Libya issued the first official international Interpol arrest warrant against Bin Laden and three other people for killing two German citizens in Libya on 10 March 1994, one of which is thought to have been a German counter-intelligence officer. Bin Laden is still wanted by the Libyan government.

On 8 June 1998, a United States grand jury indicted Osama bin Laden on charges of killing five Americans and two Indians in the 13 November 1995, truck bombing of a US-operated Saudi National Guard training center in Riyadh. Bin Laden was charged with "conspiracy to attack defense utilities of the United States" and prosecutors further charged that bin Laden is the head of the "terrorist" organization called al Qaeda, and that he was a major financial backer of Islamic fighters worldwide. Bin Laden denied involvement but praised the attack.

On 4 November 1998, Osama bin Laden was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, on charges of Murder of US Nationals Outside the United States, Conspiracy to Murder US Nationals Outside the United States, and Attacks on a Federal Facility Resulting in Death for his alleged role in the 1998 United States embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania.

The evidence against bin Laden included courtroom testimony by former Al Qaeda members and satellite phone records.

On 7 June 1999, bin Laden became the 456th person listed on the US Federal Bureau of Investigation's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, following his indictment along with others for capital crimes in the 1998 embassy attacks.

Attempts at assassination and requests for the extradition of bin Laden from the Taliban of Afghanistan were met with failure prior to the bombing of Afghanistan in October 2001. In 1999, US President Bill Clinton convinced the United Nations to impose sanctions against Afghanistan in an attempt to force the Taliban to extradite him.

Years later, on 10 October 2001, bin Laden appeared as well on the initial list of the FBI's top 22 Most Wanted Terrorists, which was released to the public by the President of the United States George W. Bush, in direct response to the attacks of 9/11, but which was again based on the indictment for the 1998 embassy attack. Bin Laden was among a group of thirteen fugitive terrorists wanted on that latter list for questioning about the 1998 embassy bombings. Bin Laden remains the only fugitive ever to be listed on both FBI fugitive lists.

After the bombing of Afghanistan began in October 2001, the Taliban did offer to turn over Osama bin Laden to a third party country in return for the US ending the bombing along with evidence that Osama bin Laden was involved in the 9/11 attacks. This offer was rejected by George W Bush stating that this was no longer negotiable with Bush responding that "There's no need to discuss innocence or guilt. We know he's guilty."

Attempted capture by the United States

According to The Washington Post, the US government concluded that Osama bin Laden was present during the Battle of Tora Bora, Afghanistan in late 2001, and according to civilian and military officials with first-hand knowledge, failure by the US to commit US ground troops to hunt him led to his escape and was the gravest failure by the US in the war against al Qaeda. Intelligence officials have assembled what they believe to be decisive evidence, from contemporary and subsequent interrogations and intercepted communications, that bin Laden began the battle of Tora Bora inside the cave complex along Afghanistan's mountainous eastern border.

The Washington Post also reported that the CIA unit dedicated to capturing Osama was shut down in late 2005.

US and Afghanistan forces raided the mountain caves in Tora Bora between 14 August and 16 August 2007. The military was drawn to the area after receiving intelligence of a pre-Ramadan meeting held by al Qaeda members. After killing dozens of al Qaeda and Taliban members, they did not find either Osama bin Laden or Ayman al Zawahiri.

Bounty: Immediately after the 9/11 attacks, US government officials named bin Laden and the Al-Qaeda organization as the prime suspects and offered a reward of $25 million for information leading to his capture or death. On 13 July 2007, this figure was doubled to $50 million.

Current whereabouts

Claims as to the location of Osama bin Laden have been made since December 2001, although none have been definitively proven and some have placed Osama in different locations during overlapping time periods.

An 11 December 2005, letter from Atiyah Abd al-Rahman to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi indicates that bin Laden and the al-Qaeda leadership were based in the Waziristan region of Pakistan at the time. In the letter, translated by the United States military's Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, "Atiyah" instructs Zarqawi to "send messengers from your end to Waziristan so that they meet with the brothers of the leadership … I am now on a visit to them and I am writing you this letter as I am with them…" Al-Rahman also indicates that bin Laden and al-Qaeda are "weak" and "have many of their own problems." The letter has been deemed authentic by military and counterterrorism officials, according to the Washington Post.

Reports of his death

April 2005: The Sydney Morning Herald stated "Dr Clive Williams, director of terrorism studies at the Australian National University, says documents provided by an Indian colleague suggested bin Laden died of massive organ failure in April last year … 'It's hard to prove or disprove these things because there hasn't really been anything that allows you to make a judgment one way or the other', Dr. Williams said."

August 2006: On 23 September 2006, the French newspaper L'Est Républicain quoted a report from the French secret service (DGSE) stating that Osama bin Laden had died in Pakistan on 23 August 2006, after contracting a case of typhoid fever that paralyzed his lower limbs. According to the newspaper, Saudi security services first heard of bin Laden's alleged death on 4 September 2006. The alleged death was reported by the Saudi Arabian secret service to its government, which reported it to the French secret service. The French defense minister Michèle Alliot-Marie expressed her regret that the report had been published while French President Jacques Chirac declared that bin Laden's death had not been confirmed. American authorities also cannot confirm reports of bin Laden's death, with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice saying only, "No comment, and no knowledge." Later, CNN's Nic Robertson said that he had received confirmation from an anonymous Saudi source that the Saudi intelligence community has known for a while that bin Laden has a water-borne illness, but that he had heard no reports that it was specifically typhoid or that he had died.

November 2007: In an interview with political interviewer David Frost, taken on November 2, 2007, the Pakistani politician, and Pakistan Peoples Party chairwoman, Benazir Bhutto, claimed that bin Laden had been murdered by Omar Sheikh. During her answer to a question pertaining to the identities of those who had previously attempted her own assassination, Bhutto named Sheikh as a possible suspect while referring to him as "the man who murdered Osama bin Laden." Despite the weight of such a statement, neither Bhutto nor Frost attempted to clarify it during the remainder of the interview. Omar Chatriwala, a journalist for Al Jazeera English, claims that he chose not to pursue the story at the time because he believes Bhutto misspoke, meaning to say Sheikh murdered Daniel Pearl and not Osama Bin Laden. The BBC drew criticism when it rebroadcast the Frost/Bhutto interview on its website, but edited out Bhutto's statement regarding Osama Bin Laden. Later the BBC apologized and replaced the edited version with the complete interview. Bhutto's statement regarding Bin Laden conflicts with an earlier statement in October 2007, where Bhutto stated in an interview that she would cooperate with the American military in targeting Osama bin Laden.

Cheney Proposed Cutting Weapons Programs That Were Important to
Success in Iraq. In 1990, Cheney proposed cutting 90 C-17 Air Force
cargo transport planes and 14 B-52 bombers. Cheney also sought the
retirement of two Navy battleships, two nuclear cruisers, and eight
nuclear-powered attack submarines. In 1991, Cheney scrapped the
Navy's A-12 Stealth attack plane, a fighter that was proclaimed to be
a key part of the future of navy aviation in advanced stealth
technology. [Newday, 2/5/91; NY Times, 1/8/91; Boston Globe, 4/27/90;
Boston Globe, 1/30/90]

C-17s and B-52s Vital to Operation Iraqi Freedom. According to
Defense Daily, "From January through mid-April C-17s in the Central
Command's Middle East theater of operations conducted 2,600 missions,
carrying more than 23,000 personnel, and more than 73 million pounds
of cargo." An analysis by Anthony Cordesman at the Center for
Strategic and International Studies showed that the Air Force B-1, B-
2, and B-52 bombers dropped nearly two-thirds of the total bombs in
the war. [Defense Daily, 5/21/03; Copley News Service, 7/3/03]

Cheney Cut Thousands of Active-Duty, Reserve, and Civilian Forces. In
January 1990, Cheney banned the hiring of any new civilian personnel
in the Defense Department through the end of September, which left
more than 65,000 jobs vacant. Under the budget proposed in 1990, the
Pentagon would have reduced active military personnel by 38,000;
selected reserves would have fallen by 3,000. The budget called for
the deactivation of two Army divisions. Long range, the Pentagon
planned to reduce its work force by 300,000, including about 200,000
military personnel and 100,000 civilians. In 1991, he called for
reduction of 200,000 active and reserve military personnel over two
years. In 1992, Cheney called for cutting 500,000 active-duty people,
200,000 reservists, and 200,000 civilians over five years.
[Minneapolis Star-Tribune, 2/2/92; Chicago Tribune, 2/20/91; 1990 CQ
Almanac, p. 672; Washington Post, 1/13/90; Boston Globe, 1/30/90]

Reserves Being Used at "Unprecedented Rate" in Iraq. National
guardsmen and reservists will soon make up 40 percent of the total
U.S. force in Iraq. Reservists are being used at "unprecedented
rate," according to Lt. Gen. Steven Blum, chief of the Army National
Guard. Tasked with homeland security missions and combat rotations in
Iraq and Afghanistan, many of the part-time soldiers mobilized in the
first days after September 11 have yet to be deactivated. An internal
Army National Guard survey of 5,000 soldiers in 15 states recently
presented a disturbing forecast: The rate at which Army Guard members
leave the force after extended deployments could nearly double to 22
percent. [U.S. News & World Report, 2/9/04; Chicago Tribune, 2/9/04]

APACHE HELICOPTER:
$13 billion in defense authorizations for the
Apache
THE CHENEY RECORD: Terminate The Apache; According to the RNC, AH-64
Apache Helicopters Were Crucial to Operation Iraqi Freedom. In
testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Defense
Subcommittee, Cheney said, "This is just a list of some of the
programs that I've recommended termination: the V-22 Osprey, the F-
14D, the Army Helicopter Improvement Program, Phoenix missile, F-15E,
the Apache helicopter, the M1 tank, et cetera." In testimony before
the House Armed Services Committee, Cheney said, "The Army, as I
indicated in my earlier testimony, recommended to me that we keep a
robust Apache helicopter program going forward, AH-64…I forced the
Army to make choices…So I recommended that we cancel the AH-64
program two years out." [Cheney testimony, Senate Appropriations
Committee, Defense Subcommittee, 6/12/90; Cheney Testimony, House
Armed Services Committee, 7/13/89; 7/18/03]

AEGIS SHIPS:
THE CHENEY RECORD: Cheney Cut Program, Costing Jobs. Cheney plan cut
9 of original 25 ships planned, putting shipyard in jeopardy [States
News Service, 8/14/90; Aviation Week and Space Technology, 9/24/90]

BRADLEY FIGHTING VEHICLES:
THE CHENEY RECORD: Bush-Cheney Budget Terminated The Bradley. "Major
weapons killed include the Army's M-2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the
Navy's Trident submarine and F-14 aircraft, and the Air Force's F-16
airplane. Cheney decided the military already has enough of these
weapons." [Boston Globe, 2/5/91]
BLACKHAWK HELICOPTERS:
THE CHENEY RECORD: Terminate The Black Hawk. The Pentagon's internal
budget deliberations recommended termination of the Black Hawk
program under Secretary Cheney." [Aerospace Daily, 5/15/90]

B-2 BOMBER:
THE CHENEY RECORD: Cheney Proposed Cuts to B-2 Program, According to
the RNC, B-2s Were Crucial to Operation Iraqi Freedom. According to
the Boston Globe, in 1990, "Defense Secretary Richard Cheney
announced a cutback… of nearly 45 percent in the administration's B-2
Stealth bomber program, from 132 airplanes to 75…" [Boston Globe,
4/27/90; From RNC Research Memo, 7/18/03:

C-17 CARGO JETS:
THE CHENEY RECORD: Cutting C-17 Program. In 1990, Cheney proposed
cutting 90 C-17 Air Force cargo transport planes [Newsday, 2/5/91; NY
Times, 1/8/91; Boston Globe, 4/27/90; Boston Globe, 1/30/90]

F/A-18 FIGHTER JETS :
THE CHENEY RECORD: Cutbacks Hit Industry Hard: Workers and the
industry were hit hard by Cheney's decision for "major cuts" in the
F/A-18 program and upgrades to the F-18 in the late 1980s [Flight
International, 6/27/90; Los Angeles Times, 12/17/89; Aerospace Daily,
5/26/89; Aviation Week and Space Technology, 5/1/89]

F-16 FIGHTER JETS:
THE CHENEY RECORD: Cheney Proposed Cutting F-16 Aircraft, According
to the RNC, F-16s Were Crucial to Operation Iraqi Freedom. In
testimony before the House Armed Services Committee, Cheney said, "If
you're going to have a smaller air force, you don't need as many F-
16s…The F-16D we basically continue to buy and close it out because
we're not going to have as big a force structure and we won't need as
many F-16s." According to the Boston Globe, Bush's 1991 defense
budget "kill[ed] 81 programs for potential savings of $ 11.9 billion…
Major weapons killed include[d]….the Air Force's F-16 airplane."
[Cheney testimony, House Armed Services Committee, 2/7/91; Boston
Globe, 2/5/91; From RNC Research Memo, 7/18/03.]

TOMAHAWK MISSILES:
THE CHENEY RECORD: No New Missiles Requested Even As Stocks Depleted
Before Gulf War, Cutbacks Lead To Layoffs: Cheney's defense budget
was so pared-down that it didn't include any funds for more Tomahawk
missiles in 1991, despite stocks rapidly diminished by the military
action in the Persian Gulf. Cuts in 1990 led to layoffs throughout
the nation. [Washington Post, 2/5/91; Aerospace Daily, 1/23/91; AP,
6/20/90]

C-130 CARGO JETS:
THE CHENEY RECORD: Move Hurricane Plane Out of Dept. of Defense, Move
Considered Dangerous. In 1990, Cheney pushed a potentially dangerous
move by trying to shift the WC-130 Hurricane Hunter planes from the
Department of Defense and into the Department of Commerce. The WC-130
is used to track Hurricanes and warn coastal residents in time to
evacuate the area. In July 1990, Cheney ordered that the Air Force
halt all WC-130 flights by October 1, 1990 and turn the mission to
the Commerce Department. Reed Boatright, a spokesman for the Commerce
Department said, "we are not in a position to accept planes either
financially or infrastructure wise." According to Jerry Jarrell,
deputy director of the National Hurricane Center, "It would be
devastating" if the Commerce Department was unable to pick up the WC-
130 after Cheney released it from Defense. Today, the WC-130 remains
at Defense. [UPI, 7/11/00]

Seth Freedman - October 10 2008
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/oct/10/israelandthepalestinians-judaism

The problem with any country fashioned along religious lines is that moderates get buried under rocks and a stream of abuse.

During Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, the port city of Akko erupted into race riots, after a clash between Jewish and Arab residents escalated into a battle involving hundreds of willing participants. The initial incident was sparked by a handful of Jews hurling rocks at an Arab man, after they took umbrage at his decision to drive through the Jewish side of town on Yom Kippur, an act that apparently offended their religious sensitivities.

When word of their attack spread around the Arab community, the response was swift, and as utterly unacceptable as the initial violence meted out by the Jewish attackers. Mobs of Arab locals went on a rampage, smashing cars and vandalising shops belonging to Jews, until police took control of the streets and forced them to a halt. As soon as the Israeli press got back to work after the Yom Kippur hiatus, the reaction was fast and furious, with both sides rushing to condemn the other via the media.

When I likened the wanton destruction I witnessed in Nil'in to a pogrom, I was hauled over the coals by my detractors for the language I employed. A few months on, and it appears that the word is enjoying something of a renaissance: Ehud Olmert using it to describe a wave of settler attacks on Arab villages, and – last night – at least three MKs calling the Yom Kippur war in Akko a pogrom, albeit from polar opposite sides of the spectrum.

Yuval Steinitz, a firebrand Likud politician took the view that "Israel has become the only country in the world where pogroms against Jews are taking place"; hot on his heels came Estherina Tartman's racist outburst, in which she claimed "The pogrom in Akko is another proof that the Arabs of Israel are the real threat to the state". Countering these claims was Ahmed Tibi, one of Israel's few Arab parliamentarians, who called the events a "Jewish pogrom", accusing the police of discriminating against Arab residents of the city during the disturbances.

Last night, a second round of clashes brought heavy police intervention, with the mixed city seemingly unwilling or unable to return to its pre-Yom Kippur state of calm and tolerance. While there is little doubt that what took place during the disturbances definitely walked and quacked like a pogrom, focusing on the symptoms rather than the disease is an unhelpful way of addressing the situation.

That anyone should feel so affronted by a non-Jewish citizen driving his car on Yom Kippur that they hurl rocks in response is as absurd a reaction as the recently-exposed ultra-orthodox vigilantes in Jerusalem, who take the law into their own hands to uphold religious law. For a country so determined to criticise – rightly – the Taliban-style behaviour of many Arab states, it is incredible that such practices are not clamped down upon when they occur closer to home.

Religious fervour has an alarming way of dragging its followers, and their unfortunate victims, back to Bible times. Stoning women in Iran is matched by stoning Arabs – or anyone else – daring to contravene Jewish law in Israel; the violators apparently deserving to be injured or killed for simply exercising the free will that the modern world extends to them.

I spent the entirety of Yom Kippur in synagogue, paying no attention whatsoever to what others might or might not be doing while I was fasting and praying. The only way I could have been offended by others' actions would have been if it directly impeded on my ability to carry out my religious obligations: if anyone had played music beneath the synagogue's windows, for example. However, catching sight of the hundreds of cyclists who come out of the woodwork every Yom Kippur wasn't offensive in the slightest; their violations of the day being their look-out, and no one else's.

The inherent problem with any country fashioned along religious lines is that the moderates get buried under a pile of rocks and a stream of abuse; a state of affairs to which both Israel and Gaza can attest. Jews attack other Jews for daring to contravene the seating arrangements on "modesty buses"; Palestinians do likewise to their non-believing brethren in similar acts of fundamentalist rage.

Sceptics will say that Akko was a tinderbox waiting to explode, and that religious sensibilities played little part in the initial outburst of violence, in the same way that Sharon's infamous tour of al-Aqsa was dismissed by rightwingers as incidental to the outbreak of the second intifada. However, the fact remains that politicians and commentators alike have been only too quick to jump on the religious bandwagon, claiming to be mortally hurt by the Arab driver's actions, as though Israel's otherwise untainted religious purity was irredeemably stained by his decision to – quite legally – drive on Yom Kippur.

The local police chief described the incident as a "deliberate provocation" by the driver, while saying precious little about the decision by his assailants to resort to hurling rocks and bottles to express their displeasure. But in that case, why don't the police end the nationwide tradition of bike-riding on Yom Kippur, if such acts are deemed to be a provocation to those adhering to religious law? The answer's pretty clear, and gives the lie to any claim that Israel is any more tolerant than its peers in the Arab world.

There is much to be said for respecting others' religions and customs, but at the same time "your freedom ends where my nose begins" cannot – and must not – be allowed to extend to a national scale. When that happens, and when the state apparatus fails to condemn such behaviour, then the game is well and truly up. And all the screams of "pogrom" in the world won't cover up who the true Cossacks are in such a case.

Must be Musl

Whenever you hear of a terrorist act, what is the fact thing which comes into our mind?

Must be Muslims out on another family picnic!

Islam & terror have become synonymous, and for good reason. While there are renegade groups and individuals in every religion, but Islam has clearly master this art. Perhaps no other religion has produced more breed of animals to cause maximize damage to the humanity. With their baby production machine in full speed, the outlook for future appears grim indeed.

Muslim's hatred for India need no explanation. Despite their fake masks pretending to be wanting peace, it is quite transparent that while they want to utilize what India has to offer, they will not hesitate harming India at the slightest opportunity and pray for PAK to destory India everyday.

Muslims are disgraced member of Indian family, our black sheep who have gone estrayed, and as long as they keep listening to their evil sermons, there can be no hope for a peaceful existance for human in India. India is becoming just like Israel, contstantly under the threat of yet another bomb explosion in heart of busy sections of the town to ensure maximum causalties. Only difference is that while great nations of Israel contains Muslims with brutal force, our political leader have sold their souls for sake of securing Muslim vote bank. With leader like Lalu and Yadav, who need PAK's ISI anyway. They alone are sufficient to bring India to its knees.

What exactly is being thought on those Friday evening prayers, after which men come out like raging bulls ready to commit violent acts without thoughts and considerations of follow Indians?

Here is what I speculate a typical Friday evening prayer session goes like:

===

It al
