<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Bagi McLaren dua seri terakhir sangatlah penting . Kepala Eksekutif McLaren Martin Whitmarsh pun mengingatkan tim dan juga pembalapnya agar tidak membuat kesalahan lagi.</p>
<p>Pada balapan sebelumnya McLaren gagal meraih hasil yang cukup baik di GP Jepang kemarin. Lewis Hamilton mengalami masalah sehingga gagal meraih poin setelah finis di posisi ke-12. Sedangkan Heikki Kovalainen tidak dapat menyelesaikan lomba karena masalah mesin di lap 16.</p>
<p>Whitmarsh pun tahu bahwa satu kali lagi kesalahan maka harus dibayar mahal dengan hilangnya gelar pembalap dan konstruktor. "Kenyataannya di balapan terakhir di musim ini tidak berbeda dengan yang pertama.</p>
<p>Whitmarsh berkata, "bagaimanapun di akhir musim harus semakin jelas di pikiran setiap orang bahwa kejuaraan dapat ditentukan dengan sebuah kesalahan. Satu kali dibuat oleh kandidat kuat lainnya atau diri kita sendiri,"</p>
<p>Posisi McLaren saat ini memang sedang memimpin klasemen pembalap dimana Hamilton unggul lima poin dari Felipe Massa. Namun dalam klasemen konstruktor saat ini dipegang oleh Ferrari.</p>

<p>Every year around this time, the Americana Manhasset, a high end strip of shops an boutiques, holds a fantastic Concours D'elegance. With it's snobbery and general air of haughtiness, I tend to avoid the Americana ( they get mad when you don't say <em>the</em> Americana, this is the caliber of people we're dealing with ) for most of the year, but this one day in the fall is the exception.</p>
<p>All the local exotic car dealerships come out and make their presence known, as they come and feature the best of their collections, while the local car community comes out in their finest to do the same. The result is a breathtaking combination of new and old dream cars lined up for all to see and enjoy. It is window shopping for the dream garage, and probably the only time men are dragging their wives and girlfriends to "the AM", and not the other way around.</p>
<p>What is also fantastic about this event is the parking lot in the back, which sort of becomes an unofficial suppliment to the show itself. Like I've said before, the car community here is vast, and those who didn't enter usually show up in a wide variety of exotics and mix together in the back with all the other cars. There's usually a concentrated center, where the most intriguing and wild rides convoke themselves away from the main party, and you kind of discover it like Baby wandering away from the aristocratic function and finding an automotive Patrick Swayze and his crew rocking out with all the "regular" cars.</p>

<title><![CDATA[G.P. de Japón 2008 - Fuji]]></title>

La de tiempo que llevo sin hablar de Fórmula 1 en el blog&#8230; entre unas cosas y otras, el caso]]></description>

<p>La de tiempo que llevo sin hablar de Fórmula 1 en el blog... entre unas cosas y otras, el caso es que han pasado muchas cosas, algunas previsibles y otras no, por ejemplo Kimi Raikkonen, el actual campeón ha desaparecido del mundial, él mismo sabrá porqué, y se han quedado luchando por el campeonato los otros dos paquetes: Massa y Hamilton, y  Robert Kubika; el polaco mantiene posibilidades, pero lo cierto es que en todo este tiempo el BMW ha bajado en rendimiento y se han visto superados por Renault, que en las últimas carreras ha mejorado bastante. En todo este tiempo Alonso también la ha cagado, pero no solo por la excusa del R-28 sino también por él mismo,  se le han podido ver acciones precipitadas y desafortunadas probablamente provocadas por su falta de competitividad.</p>
<p>En esta última carrera en el G.P. de Fuji, en Japón se ha vuelto a poner de manifiesto el trecho que les falta para ser unos grandes pilotos tanto a Massa como Hamilton. Ferrari está sumido claramente en una crisis, aunque en esta carrera Raikkonen si halla podido subirse al podio ha quedado más que claro que a Ferrari le faltan pilotos, que BMW se ha quedado un poco atrás en el desarrollo del monoplaza de esta temporada, y que Alonso, si tiene un coche mínimamente decente es infinítamente superior a los demás, de ahí las dos últimas victorias.</p>
<p>Ahora queda ver en las dos carreras que quedan quién será el campeón del mundial de pilotos, las opciones son: o Pifias I (Hamilton) o Pifias II (Massa) aunque también queda la más remota posibilidad de que sea Kubika, que viendo lo que ocurrió en 2007, sinceramente sería lo más lógico.</p>

<p>It’s an urban myth that men can pick up women with a hot exotic car. Or is it? The more cynical among us would have said that only ’gold diggers’ would fall for a set of expensive wheels (with some dude at the wheel with serious insecurities in the pants region). But recent research has shown that women actually do appreciate the sound of expensive horsepower - Italian horsepower in fact - just as much as men do.</p>
<p>Wired Magazine’s web-site details a study by British insurance company Hiscox (no, seriously) to see how people respond to high performance cars. The results show that there is in fact a definite attraction to the free-flowing wail of an expensive Italian engine.</p>
<blockquote><p>“To test the theory that high-performance cars get people hot, David Moxon had 40 men and women listen to recordings of the three Italian exotics and a Volkswagen Polo. Everyone had significantly more testosterone after hearing the exotics, and all of the women were turned on by the Maserati. The guys, on the other hand, were drawn to the Lamborghini.</p>
<p>“Testosterone is indicative of positive arousal in the human body so we can confidently conclude from the results out today that the roar of a luxury car engine actually does cause a primeval physiological response.”</p>
<p>“As for the Polo? Everyone had less testosterone after listening to it.”</p></blockquote>
<p>Having personally heard both a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Ferrari F430 having their engines revved out (like, right out), I can report that it’s the Lambo that stirs my blood far more. (Seems I can’t help showing my masculinity.)</p>
<p>So it’s proven: if you want to pick up a member of the opposite sex, your first trip after you win the lottery should be to showrooms bearing a Prancing Horse or a Raging Bull. Join the queue.</p>

<p>I found some interesting facts <a href="http://home.pon.net/hunnicutt/history_64_68.htm" target="_blank">on this site</a> during my last Mustang searches, the first one sounds a bit strange to me given the Mustang was released sometime mid 1964 so if you know what this is about let me know in the comments:</p>
<p>1962 - Ford unveils a new car at the start of the U.S. Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, the Mustang<br />
1963 - While waiting for the introduction of the Mustang, Ford introduced the Falcon Sprint package with a V8, tachometer and special trim<br />
1963 - Ford tries and fails to buy Ferrari<br />
1965 - Ralph Nader's "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unsafe_at_Any_Speed" target="_blank">Unsafe at Any Speed</a>" published<br />
1966 - The millionth Mustang is built just before its second birthday in March<br />
1966 - Wilson Pickett releases the hit single "Mustang Sally"<br />
1966 - Mustang sales were over 6% of the total U.S. car market</p>
<p>Can you imagine that? Six percent of the total U.S. car market not to just one brand, but to one single model. If this is true it offers some good news for me. Meaning it's okay if it takes some more time before I ever get to buy one as there are plenty of them ;)</p>
<p>One more note on that 1st Mustang. <a href="http://www.midcomustang.com/firstmustang.shtml" target="_blank">Did you know that was bought by an airline captain called Stanley Tucker</a> who had seen the car at his local dealership and that he wasn't even aware this was the first one? Apparently Ford tried to buy it back soon after it found out the car was sold but that Stanley Tucker didn't let go until (after 2 years of driving and 10.000 miles) he got a new full-option 1966 model from Ford. And also not just 'a' 1966 model, but the millionth Mustang manufactured. You can now go see the 1st Mustang ever made - unrestored - <a href="http://www.thehenryford.org/museum/automobile.aspx" target="_blank">in the Henry Ford Museum</a>. You gotta love stories like these.</p>

<p>I bought the book that he has suggested me and boarded the flight to Athens, it was a short journey and I fell asleep not realizing that I was about to get change. The night passed away and the fresh morning rose up. It was Sunday and I was taking the clothes out of my bag I found the book. After finishing the days work I started reading the book and completed it by the end of day, I sat silent for almost an hour realizing what I have missed so far in my life, I have not taken care of my health properly, not giving any time for myself and suddenly I started feeling empty.</p>
<p><strong>Now about the book…</strong><br />
The book is about a well settled / wealthy / hefty businessman who got a heart attack and survives it, which in turn made a transformation in his life and thereby becoming a monk. The book will tell 7 most important things in life</p>
<p>develop joyful thoughts</p>
<p>follow your life's mission and calling</p>
<p>look within for success</p>
<p>cultivate self-discipline and act courageously</p>
<p>value time as your most important commodity</p>
<p>nourish your relationships and</p>
<p>Live life fully, one day at a time.</p>
<p>Everyday you will see at least 7 people who are failing in these qualities and have no idea that they are lacking these, yet they justify that they are contented and happy, but the real character or happiness lies within the person and not with what he/she says.</p>
<p>By developing joyful thoughts we will be able to keep our mind young and thereby our body. We will have a positive radiant energy all around us and this is very contagious and will spread in all directions. We henceforth make people happy and you create a bond with each person you get in contact with.</p>
<p>Following our life’s mission: Some people do not know what they are doing and what they want to do. Even though they are two different things, they lack either of them. We need to have a code and live with it, and that code has to be your life’s mission.</p>
<p>Failures are the stepping stone to success and success is not that is outside but inside, think each of your failures are success and try to perform better each day, ultimately you will succeed and that will never make you feel like you are on the top of the world even when you are on top of the world, you will start having a modest approach over success and will win over it time and again.</p>
<p>Self discipline is not what you expect from others but what you give to others.</p>
<p>Lost time never comes back no matter what. We are now in the mystical world where time flies in jet and supersonic planes, as soon as you realize the day has started you will be rushing home for dinner. We must always cultivate the habit of having time to ourselves through some means, try to be alone and in silence, so that you are recharge spiritually.</p>
<p>These qualities when followed over time will change the way you see things and work in a more organized way and thereby producing quality results. It is not feasible to start following these principles in a day, it takes time and it has to be done one at a time and over a period you will start realizing that despite of your work pressures, you are accenting towards a better future.</p>

<p>"I don't know exactly what chassis he is using, but I tested the previous one last year when I lived in Oxford, so I believe that I can give him a few tips".</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span class="texto1">A California é a mais recente das Ferrari. Apontada anteriormente como Dino, ela ganhou o nome do mais rico estado norte-americano. E com a homenagem, o cupê traz diversas características novas para os veículos italianos. Ela estréia o motor com injeção direta de combustível, mais econômico e menos poluente, além de oferecer um inédito câmbio automático de sete velocidade - seis marchas, até então, era o que todas as Ferrari ofereciam. Além disso, trata-se do primeiro conversível de Maranello a ter teto rígido removível (a SuperAmerica pode ser considerada um Targa).</p>
<p>O estilo da Californa falta alto, se destaca. Sem dúvida, é uma Ferrari, embora tenha soluções estilísticas diferenciadas. A grade e os faróis triangulares conferem um conjunto mais jovial ao modelo, entre todos os outros esportivos da marca do cavalinho rampante. A lanterna única arredondada, em cada extremidade, também dá um toque clássico ao modelo. Por dentro, ela oferece duas configurações. Uma delas traz pequenos assentos traseiros com fixações Isofix, para cadeirinhas infantis. A outra reserva este espaço para bagagens e troca os cintos de segurança por tiras, utilizadas para segurar as bagagens. O painel que fica entre o porta-malas (na traseira) e o habitáculo pode ser rebatido, para o transporte de objetos mais compridos.</p>
<p>Mas o mais importante de um sureresportivo é o motor. No caso da California, ele está localizado na parte dianteira, mas atrás do eixo, o que lhe confere melhor distribuição de peso. Trata-se de um oito cilindros em V (dispostos a 90°, clássica dos V8 da marca) e tem 4.297 cm³ de cilindrada. Conta com sistema de injeção direta e distribuição variável nas válvulas de admissão e escape. Feito em alumínio, ele entrega 460 cv a 7.750 rpm. De acordo com a Ferrari, acelera de 0 a 100 km/h em 4 segundos e pode chegar a 310 km/h.</p>
<p>Segundo a fabricante, o consumo médio da California é de 7,6 km/l, algo muito mais baixo que qualquer outro Ferrari comercializado atualmente. Tal número é obtido graças às novas tecnologias empregadas no motor, pois um F430 Spider F1, com o mesmo motor mas 490 cv, chega a 5,5 km/l, em média. E ainda tem desempenho semelhante ao Califórnia, mesmo mais leve e potente. Falando em peso, a California tem 1.810 kg de massa, menos que um BMW M3 Cabriolet e mais que o Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio, este com teto de lona e 1.730 kg.</p>
<p>O teto conversível é acionado por meio de um sistema automático. Ele leva 14 segundos para ser guardado no compartimento de bagagem. Ele, assim como os painéis da carroceria e o chassis do Californa, são feitos completamente em alumínio. Quando "escondido" no porta-malas, a capacidade de transporte de bagagens no mesmo cai de 340 para 240 litros. Para proteger os ocupantes, há arcos atrás dos bancos escondidos, que entram em ação em 190 milissegundos, caso haja risco de capotamento.</p>
<p>Ainda sobre os componentes mecânicos do modelo, a transmissão tem sete velocidades e sistema de dupla embreagem, como o sistema DSG da Volkswagen. Ele mantém uma marca pré-selecionada para aumentar a velocidade na troca e diminuir os trancos. Desta maneira, as rodas não perdem força. Esta transmissão pode funcionar de modo automático ou manual, com câmbios feitos a partir de aletas atrás do volante. A caixa de câmbio fica posicionada junto ao eixo traseiro, distante do motor.</p>
<p>O sistema de suspensão da California também é moderno. O esportivo traz paralelograma deformável nos dois eixos, e conta com o auxílio do controle de tração F1-Trac, já oferecido na irmã maior, a 599 GTB Fiorano. Os freios a disco são de cerâmica, fabricados sob responsabilidade da respeitada Brembo. Já as rodas de liga leve têm 19 polegadas de diâmetro, mas há opção de rodas aro 20. Estas são feitas em alumínio forjado e pesam 11 kg a menos que as oferecidas de série.</p>
<p>Assim como em outros modelos, o California oferece junto ao volante o "manettino", um indicador pelo qual se pode modificar o funcionamento da caixa de transmissão, do controle de estabilidade ("CST"), do controle de tração ("F1-Trac") e o ajuste da suspensão com rigidez variável (SCM). Os amortecedores deste último componente, opcional, trazem fluio de viscosidade que pode variar de acordo com o campo magnético aplicado. O manettino permite três ajustes: Comfort, Sport e CTS-off. O primeiro prioriza a segurança e é mais indicado para terrenos de baixa aderência. Segundo a Ferrari, é a melhor escolha para uso diário. O intermediário tem o desempenho e a estabilidade como foco principal. É recomendado para quem quer conduzir em alta velocidade. O último desliga os controles de estabilidade e tração, deixando toda a responsabilidade de domar a cavalaria para as pernas e braços do motorista.</p>
<p>O quadro de instrumentos do California é completa e também "foge" um pouco da tradição das Ferrari. Apenas velocímetro e tacômetro/conta-giros são analógicos. Uma tela no painel indica a quantidade de combustível restante, o estado em que se encontra o óleo e as funções do computador de bordo, entre outros. O novo Ferrari ainda oferece itens como lanternas em LEDs, faróis bi-xenon, navegador com disco rígido e tela sensível ao toque de 6,5 polegadas, conexão Bluetooth e USB além de entrada especial para iPod. Na lista de opcionais há sistema de iluminação adaptativa, câmera traseira para manobras em ré, suspensão magnética com rigidez variável (SCM) e assentos com regulagem elétrica.</p>
<p>A Ferrari oferece 12 diferentes tonalidades para a pintura da carroceria do California, tendo um novo tom de azul (batizado de "Azzuro Californa"), criado especialmente para o modelo, como destaque. Para o habitáculo, a fabricante italiana oferece 14 cores diferentes para o couro que o reveste, também trazendo duas novidades na Ferrari: um batizado de "Cioccolato" e outro de "Iroko".</p>
<p>Os preços do modelo ainda não foram divulgados, mas sabe-se que ela é a mais barata das Ferrari atuais.</span></p>

<p align="justify">22-calowy monitor F-22  reprezentuje najwyższy poziom zarówno rozwiązań technicznych, jak  i wzornictwa, ponieważ powstał dzięki inspiracji dorobkiem słynnego  na całym świecie zespołu Formuły 1. F-22 idealnie spełnia oczekiwania  miłośników sportu i multimediów, ponieważ wyświetla wyjątkowo  ostry obraz o żywych kolorach zapewniając pełną satysfakcję z oglądania  wyścigów Formuły 1 oraz gier, niezależnie od tego, czy jest podłączony  do notebooka, czy komputera stacjonarnego.</p>
<p align="justify">Bardzo cienka, czarna  obudowa ma powierzchnię wypolerowaną na wysoki połysk. Wygodnie umieszczone, dotykowe przyciski Acer  SensorTouch umożliwiają szybkie obsługiwanie menu ekranowego a jednocześnie  pozwalają na zachowanie gładkiej powierzchni obudowy. Sekwencyjne  podświetlanie diodami LED podczas włączania monitora daje atrakcyjny  efekt wizualny. Z tyłu monitora F-22 znajduje się metalowa tabliczka  znamionowa z wygrawerowanym numerem seryjnym, która podkreśla ekskluzywny  charakter specjalnej, limitowanej serii monitorów.<!--more--></p>
<p align="justify">Zgodnie ze sportowym  duchem firmy Ferrari, monitor F-22 ma wspaniałe parametry techniczne,  w tym bardzo krótki czas reakcji 2 ms, który zapewnia wysoką  jakość oraz realizm ruchomego obrazu. W monitorze zastosowano też  technologię Acer Overdrive (OD) pozwalającą na znaczne skrócenie  czasu reakcji przy przejściu między odcieniami szarości, który decyduje  o jakości ruchomego obrazu. Duży współczynnik kontrastu 20  000:1 gwarantuje ostry obraz z wyraźnymi szczegółami.</p>
<p align="justify">22-calowy wyświetlacz  o panoramicznym formacie 16:10 jest wyposażony w technologię Acer  CrystalBrite, która zmniejsza rozpraszanie światła wytwarzanego przez  podświetlenie a także minimalizuje refleksy i rozpraszanie światła  zewnętrznego. W rezultacie uzyskuje się doskonały kontrast oraz ostrzejszy,  jaśniejszy obraz.</p>
<p align="justify">Monitor F-22 jest w pełni  przystosowany do współpracy z najnowocześniejszymi, cyfrowymi urządzeniami,  ponieważ jest wyposażony w interfejs HDMI  umożliwiający przesyłanie cyfrowych sygnałów wideo i audio o dużej  rozdzielczości. Aplikacja Acer eDisplay Management pomaga w regulowaniu  jasności, kontrastu, ostrości (wybieranie rozdzielczości podstawowej),  położenia, balansu kolorów oraz temperatury barwowej. <p>British performance car magazine <em>Evo</em>, is claiming to have smashed the production car lap record at the Nurburgring race track in a Maserati MC-12, taking just 7:24.29 minutes to lap the circuit known as ‘the green hell’ and regarded as the ultimate test of a super car.</p>
<p><em>Evo</em> was lucky enough to run back-to-back Nurburgring laps with a number of well-known supercars, thanks to a generous German collector. Joining the MC-12, was a Ferrari Enzo, a Koenigsegg CCX, a Pagani Zonda F Clubsport and a Porsche Carrera GT. <em>Evo</em> borrowed American Le Mans Series race driver, Marc Basseng to pilot each car.</p>
<p>Now, none of these machines are known for sitting on their laurels but some were faster than others around the ‘green hell’. Coming in last was the Koenigsegg CCX, which struggled with getting its massive 672 kWs to the ground. The Carrera GT managed fourth place, with Basseng managing to match Walter Rohrl’s best time. The Enzo managed a podium (3rd place finish), with the Zonda just pipping it for second place. The Zonda’s average speed over the lap was 165km/h.</p>
<p>The Maserati MC-12 was the fastest, a feat made all the more impressive (according to Maserati) by the fact that it was the heaviest car tested, and was running with conventional dampers and steel brakes.</p>
<p>Basseng concluded that while it was not the quickest on the straights, the Maserati MC-12 triumphed thanks to the balanced chassis and race-bred aerodynamics and an engine that provided easily accessible power - a combination that enabled him to get the power earlier and harder than the other contenders.</p>
<p>Porsche may find being bested by a Maserati, <a href="http://worldmotorreport.wordpress.com/2008/10/14/porsche-accuses-nissan-of-cheating-at-the-nurburgring/" target="_blank">preferable to running second to a Nissan</a>?</div>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Major Italian newspaper, <em>La Gazetta dello Sport</em> have slammed Kimi Raikkonen's poor performances over this season despite finishing on the podium in Japan.</p>
<p>Raikkonen, who won the title for the Scuderia in his first season with them last year, has failed to find form this year and all too often been on the DNF sheet.</p>
<p><em>La Gazetta</em> reckon that Luca di Montezemolo should have shown Raikkonen the door, and got Alonso to come into the team.</p>
<p>"It's a question we have to ask," the newspaper's correspondent wrote. "Was it really sensible to renew Raikkonen's contract?</p>
<p>"(Luca di) Montezemolo has called the Finn a striker in search of his lost goals, but Kimi seems more like a mechanic who has lost the operating instructions to his car."</p>
<p>"He now has two more races to help Massa and show that he still has the desire. If this run continues, Ferrari must make the call to Alonso."</p>
<p>Former Ferrari driver Jody Schekter who won the title in 1979 with the team was also critical;</p>
<p>"Raikkonen's life at Maranello would have been much more difficult if Enzo Ferrari was around," the South African told the Spanish newspaper <em>Sport</em>.</p>
<p>He believes Alonso is the way forward  "I think Ferrari needs someone with his personality; someone capable of being in control of things."</p>

<p>These are apparently the first photos of the new McLaren supercar, codenamed P11. This machine will compete with the likes of the Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, and other "mass-produced" supercars. It will be considerably cheaper than the F1, and tamer. It is likely to run the <span>6.2-litre V8 from Mercedes-Benz. It could produce over 500bhp, with a 0-100km/h time of under 4 s, on to a top speed of over 200mph. Projected weight will be somewhere around 1,100kg. Price will be in the 300,000-450,000 ball park.Expect it by 2010.</span></p>
<p>On a side note, that is some hardcore camo and disguise gear it has on..looks like they really don't want anyone to figure out it's final shape.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ferrari's Aldo Costa has told Italian presses that their work on the Kinetic Energy Recovery System is behind schedule.</p>
<p>KERS is compulsory from 2009.</p>
<p>Costa claims the team will be fine for the first 2009 test, but meerly they have a lot of work to do in a short space of time.  They have spent a lot of resources on getting the F2008 to win the title.</p>
<p> "KERS because it's a technology never tried before, but work has been very intense on aerodynamics too.  There have been reliability troubles," Costa told <em>Gazzetta dello Sport.</em></p>
<p>"I can't deny we are running a bit late. Let's say that I would like to have tried our system already."</p>
<p>He added: "We have a lot to do but time is short. Even though we have two weeks more compared to the past, we must follow the collective tests calendar. There's a test in mid January and we can't miss it.</p>
<p>"By fighting for the title we've put a lot of resources on the F2008, and now we find ourselves in the need to quickly make up for it. Most of the components are already in production, while the KERS is on the bench."</p>
