Οι απουσίες Γκαλέτι και Λούα Λούα, πέρα απο το οτι δεν ήταν δυνατό να αντικατασταθούν επάξια, στοίχισαν πολύ στην ομάδα και στο ψυχολογικό κομμάτι. Με δεδομένο οτι γκολ θα έτρωγε σίγουρα στο Λονδίνο, λείπανε 2 βασικά στοιχεία απο αυτά που ενέπνεαν την ομάδα στις προηγούμενες εκτός έδρας ανατροπές, που δίνανε πίστη και στους υπόλοιπους παίχτες και τους ανεβάζανε συνολικά σε απόδοση.

Ως προπονητής της εξέδρας κατανοώ το Λεμονή και πιστεύω σωστά έβαλε όποιους έβαλε στη βασική εντεκάδα, τους τρείς αμυντικούς χαφ που θα τρέχανε πολύ. Πόνταρε στην κακιά Τσέλσι, πόνταρε στις πιθανότητες να μπλοκάρει τον αντίπαλο, να κερδίσει χρόνο με το μηδέν στην άμυνα και αναλόγως πως θα πήγαινε το ματς να πράξει. Απλώς όπως στράβωσε (αναμενόμενα ίσως) απο νωρίς το ματς, ο Ολυμπιακός με γεροΤζόλε και Τοροσίδη να είναι οι μόνοι παίχτες μπροστά απ τη σέντρα μαζί με τον εγκλωβισμένο Ντάρκο, θύμιζε τον Ολυμπιακό των προηγούμενων χρόνων.

Και καθώς απ το 25λεπτο άρχισε ο επικήδειος του Παύλου με το Μίχο, για το πόσο άνιση η μάχη ήταν εξαρχής, για το πόσα δισεκατομμύρια κάθονται στον πάγκο της Τσέλσι, άρχισα να αναρωτιέμαι πόσο τελικά επιβεβαιώθηκε φέτος ο μύθος της υπέρβασης του Θρύλου.
Δηλαδή, οκ, δεδομένο είναι πως σε σύγκριση με παλιότερα, ο Ολυμπιακός απέκτησε ευρωπαϊκή υπόσταση, έκανε καλά αποτελέσματα και καλύτερες ακόμα εμφανίσεις, ακούστηκε στην Ευρώπη (εντάξει, όχι τόσο οσο η Φενέρ), απλώς πρέπει να περάσει πολύς καιρός ακόμα για να μιλάμε για υπέρβαση χωρίς να υποτιμάμε την ίδια μας τη σκέψη.

Ο Μπελούσι βοήθησε, σίγουρα, και έδειξε κάποια απο τα πλούσια προσόντα του. Απλώς αμφιβάλω θα έπαιζε το ίδιο αν αγωνιζόταν απο την αρχή, όταν η Τσέλσι μπήκε αποφασισμένη να κρατήσει τη μπάλα και να πάρει το ματς.

Αντε να δούμε, θα έχουμε και του χρόνου Ολυμπιακό στο Τσάμπιονς Λίγκ?

Το 0-0 φυσικά είναι μεγάλο αποτέλεσμα, αν αναλογιστείς οτι η Τσέλσι έριξε όλους τους παιχταράδες της μέσα στο γήπεδο και κυνήγησε τη νίκη, αφού φυσικά εξασφάλισε πρώτα το μηδέν στην άμυνα. Κι αν σκεφτείς πως σε αυτή την ομάδα Μπάλακ και Σεβτσένκο τρώνε πάγκο.

Παρόλαυτα έχω την εντύπωση πως ο φίλαθλος του Ολυμπιακού, ο λάτρης του επιθετικού ποδοσφαίρου, αντιμετωπίζει μουδιασμένα την τακτική του Σερ Τάκη. Την επιτυχία ουδείς εμίσησε, το αποτέλεσμα ακόμα και με μέτρια απόδοση επίσης ουδείς. Όμως ο Ολυμπιακός χτες δικαίωσε το Σέρτζιο Κονσεισάο που σε πρόσφατες δηλώσεις του έλεγε πως
" O Ολυμπιακός στην Ευρώπη είναι μικρής εμβέλειας ομάδα"

Οι παίχτες της Τσέλσι διέσχιζαν σε διαστήματα του πρώτου κιόλας ημιχρόνου τα 2/3 του γηπέδου χωρίς να βρίσκουν αντίπαλο, έβλεπες 9 παίχτες του Ολυμπιακού μαζεμένους το πολύ 10 μέτρα έξω απ την περιοχή και στο τέλος, για να κρατήσουν το αποτέλεσμα οι 9 έγιναν και 10 και γύρναγε κι ο Κοβάσεβιτς να βοηθάει τον Πάντο. Ο Νικοπολίδης προσπαθώντας να σπάσει το ρυθμό, καθυστερόυσε κανα μισό λεπτό σε κάθε βολέ.

Εξαρτάται πως το βλέπει κανείς βέβαια. Άλλος μπορεί να γίνει εμπαθής και να λέει πως ο Ολυμπιακός στην Ευρώπη παίζει σαν την Καλαμαριά και τη Βέροια. Άλλος να ισχυριστεί πως ΜΟΝΟ έτσι ελληνική ομάδα ποτέ κατάφερε να πετύχει κάτι απέναντι σε ισχυρότερο αντίπαλο (Εθνική, Ευρω-Παο του παρελθόντος, κλπ κλπ).

Απλώς, επανέρχομαι, ο φίλαθλος του Ολυμπιακου είναι μαθημένος στο επιθετικό ποδόσφαιρο. Θέλει το αποτέλεσμα με την Τσέλσι αλλά το θέλει με μπαλάρα. (είναι ο ίδιος φίλαθλος που στο παρελθόν γελοιοποιούσε την τακτική τσούκου τσούκου, πως γίνεται να δέχεται κάτι παρόμοιο τώρα)

υγ. Η μη συμμετοχή Μπελούσι στον αγώνα, φάνηκε τελικά να είναι σωστή. Λένε πως δε μπορούσε να αντέξει το "ρυθμό" του αγώνα κι όταν μπήκε κιόλας δεν έδειξε και πολλά πράγματα.
Όμως σε κάτι αντεπιθέσεις του Ολυμπιακού, με εξαίρεση το Γκαλέτι κανείς δε σήκωνε το κεφάλι να δει μπροστά, παρά δίνανε στον διπλανό τους ώσπου έφτανε στα άκρα και έβγαινε μια ψιλό καταδικασμένη σέντρα. Ο Μπελούσι ίσως μπορούσε να τρέξει τη μπάλα, να τριπλάρει, να βγάλει την κάθετη μπαλιά που την κατέχει. Και αν έπαιζε κι απ την αρχή, αλλιώς θα έμπαινε στο κλίμα του αγώνα.

Στο Στάμφορντ Μπρίτζ τα πράγματα είναι δύσκολα και συνήθως οι ελληνικές ομάδες όταν μπαίνουν στο αεροπλάνο για Αγγλία έχουν ήδη μετρήσει 3. Ποιος το αποκλείει όμως το διπλό με το φετινό Ολυμπιακό;

A new year begins, so here are some suggested new year's resolutions for the major movers and shakers in Argentine football, from the clubs to the administrators to a few of the players. Of course, we all know what normally happens with new year's resolutions, but here's hoping at least some of these are heeded...

Arsenal de Sarandí

Another continental challenge would be welcome, but this time they can’t let it affect their league form as drastically as did their Copa Sudamericana campaign during the Apertura.

Boca Juniors

One resolution and one only: challenge for the title, defend the Copa Libertadores. With Riquelme now back permanently, anything less would be a major disappointment. Off the pitch, Pedro Pomilio needs to win back faith in his presidency – he'd better hope his manager Carlos Ischia delivers in style.

Estudiantes

Stop talking about the old manager all the time, and start concentrating on working for the new one. With campaigns in the league and the Libertadores ahead, they’ll need to focus.

Huracán

Idiot chairman Carlos Babington should shut up, pay the money he owes his players, and sort out the club's training facilities at last. Oh, and pray to high Heaven that ex-centre back Claudio Ubeda takes to management spectacularly quickly. On the pitch, at least, a continuation of the form shown in the Apertura has to be the aim - the question is whether Ubeda's the man to make that happen.

Independiente

Keep feeding Germán Denis, give Freddy Grisales his chances as well, and try and stop conceding at silly times. Another title challenge shouldn’t be out of the question with the signings they’ve made. Oh, and stay away from stray canines...

Lanús

Hang on to Diego Valeri until the season's end if you can, and enjoy the Clausura.

Newell’s Old Boys

Another campaign to match the Apertura is needed if they're going to stand a chance of pulling clear of the relegation zone in the Promedio table. Off the pitch, getting rid of some of those hoolies would be nice.

Racing

No longer looking like they might be heading for the drop, but the main resolution here is one for the directors. Blanquiceleste should be forced to listen to what the fans are saying, and whether or not it's practicable to hand the club back over, should at the very least meet the demands for greater financial transparency and, if possible, presidential elections.

River Plate

Where to begin? Actually, River's new year resolution should be a simple one to come up with: win a trophy. As long as it's more meaningful than the Torneo de Verano, any trophy will do. Off the pitch, Aguilar is another club president with questions to answer, in his case about his closeness to certain members of Los Borrachos del Tablón, the club's barra brava. But with a presidential election coming up for River this year, he may not have to sweat about that too much longer.

Rosario Central

Just try and win a game before you get halfway through the campaign this time, boys. Both Rosario clubs fighting against the drop simply isn't how it's meant to be.

Alfio Basile

On the face of it from the outside, he's done well so far: leading Argentina to finish 2007 at the top of the world rankings and, despite the loss to Colombia, in an excellent position in the South American World Cup Qualifying group. But the fans aren't yet won over and Basile needs to get the selección playing something more like a team. Less reliance on Riquelme might not be a bad start; brilliant though he is when he's on the pitch, if he gets injured there'll be trouble...

Julio Grondona

In an ideal footballing world, he'd resign as head of the AFA and FIFA vice-president, and drop off the face of the earth. But if I could impose just one resolution on him, which had to be kept, it would be this: change your attitude, man. Soundbites like, 'I'm responsible for the football, not the security' (in the wake of trouble following a second division clásico during last season's Clausura) simply don't wash. Andrew Jennings can fill you in on why Grondona's a bad influence for world football generally, but that quote on its own tells you all you need to know about why Argentina in particular would be better off without him.

The departees

Ever Banega, Fernando Belluschi and anyone else on their way to Europe: be prepared to adapt but have confidence in your ability. Although señorito Banega might like to stay away from webcam chatrooms for a little while. Given the press reaction to his shenanigans last week (not reported on this site because frankly it has nothing to do with football), he should thank God he's not moved to an English club.

Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano

If 2007 has taught you two anything at all, it should be to never accept offers from strangers, ever again. Stick where you both are right now and you won't go too far wrong (although Javier, if you're reading this, I'm sure you'd be welcome at Old Trafford as well...).

Internazionale (a.k.a. Argentina A)

OK, you've done it without them: now win Serie A with Juve also competing. And Señor Cruz, keep up the good goalscoring form.

Keep playing, keep thrilling us, keep doing the highly predictable but totally unstoppable, and keep popping up with those magic moments which are neither forseeable nor preventable. If it's possible, keep improving at something like the same rate you have in the last twelve months. And this year, hope like hell that the voters in the end-of-year individual awards go for the player who deserves it, rather than the best player of the European Cup semi-final. Because if you have as good a year as you did in 2007, you should be cleaning up in eleven months' time.

No details of the fee to be paid to his previous club River Plate have been made public but reports in the Greek media said it could reach 6.5 million euros.

"I am very happy. I was really anxious for the negotiations to be completed," Belluschi, 24, told reporters.
"Now I just want to get involved in training as soon as possible."

Belluschi, who has two caps, is unlikely to feature in the derby against Panathinaikos at the weekend but should play a part in Olympiakos plans against Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League next month.

"It is a dream for every Argentine footballer to play in Europe," he said. "I feel lucky and happy to be here and hope that I can reproduce the form I had in Argentina."

Greek media have reported Olympiakos are negotiating with another Argentine, Sergio Almiron who joined Juventus for nine million euros in June but has only played three times.

Οι λόγοι που παρακολούθησα τον μισητό Παναθηναϊκό ήταν τρεις

1. Γιατι είχα τσάμπα εισιτήρια
2. Γιατί ήθελα να κατασκοπεύσω τον αντίπαλο ενόψει των αναμετρήσεων για πρωτάθλημα και κύπελλο στο Καραϊσκάκη
3. Γιατί είχα φοβερή αγωνία να δω τη νέα φανέλα των 100 χρόνων...... yeah right..

Συν τοις άλλοις υπάρχει διάχυτη η ατμόσφαιρα μίσους στις εξέδρες οτι κάποιοι είναι με εμάς, ενώ κάποιοι άλλοι είναι με τους άλλους, και τελικά δεν ξέρουμε ποιοι είμαστε εμείς και ποιοι οι άλλοι και ποιος είναι παραπάνω παναθηναϊκός και πονάει την ομάδα περισσότερο.

Αγωνιστικές παρατηρήσεις

Την εμφάνιση τη λες μέτρια, αλλά παραδόξως ξεχώρισαν αρκετοί παίχτες. Ή μάλλον δεν υστέρησε κανένας. Εκτός απο το Μάντζιο. Και το Ρομέρο. Και τον Εντογιέ. Και το Γκονζάλεζ.

The revolving door at the Monumental will be spinning on Thursday when River Plate say goodbye to one star and welcome another player they hope will become one in the next few months. Fernando Belluschi will go to Olympiakos very shortly, for a fee of US$7.6 million, to try his luck in Europe for the first time. New manager Diego Simeone had wanted to keep him and build the side with him as a central piece, but the financial offer was too good for a club with River's problems to ignore, evidently. In, however, comes Uruguayan striker Sebastián Abreu from Mexican side Tigres - as reported last week. No fee will be paid by River for that one, because Abreu owned his own registration and opted to terminate his contract with the Mexicans in order to move to Buenos Aires.

The giants on the other side of the city in La Boca will also be waving off one favourite whilst laying out the welcome mat. Boca Juniors are apparently set, out of the blue, to sign Lucas Castromán, snatching him from under the noses of English Premier League club Birmingham City. Birmingham had all but assured themselves of the former Vélez striker's signature, but Boca came in at the last minute with an improved bid to loan the forward which his current club, América de México, preferred to the English side's.

Ever Banega, meanwhile, is on the point of departing - as did his predecessor in the number five shirt, Fernando Gago - for Spain. Valencia, who've also been linked with ex-River man Lucho González in recent weeks, need drastically to bring in some decent midfielders, and have agreed a fee with Boca which the Xeneize's third vice-president José Beraldi claims is 'more than US$20 million'. The 19-year-old cinco will fly out to Valencia immediately, after only 42 first-team matches for Boca, during which time he came second in last year's Clausura and won the Copa Libertadores, as well as the Under 20 World Cup with Argentina in Canada.

In another bit of interesting news, my favorite greek player, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, currently playing with Eintracht Frankfurt alongside Greek compatriot and team captain Ioannis Amanatidis, is rumored to be on his way to Beşiktaş.

No believable rumors yet regarding any transfers involving AEK.

'Today we had a final meeting with the Independiente directors and, barring any last-minute snags, Grisales will play for this team in the coming season,' Totono's agent Marcelo Ferreyra told Radio La Red on Thursday. He also stated that Colón had fulfilled their part of a 'gentleman's agreement' with the owners of Grisales's registration, to allow the transfer to go through. The fine print will be confirmed on Friday.

Portugese champions Porto, meanwhile, released a statement making it clear that they had made 'no offer' for River Plate midfielder Fernando Belluschi. Belluschi's agent, currently in Europe, had claimed that two European sides had made offers for his services: Porto and Greek side Olympiakos. With three Argentines in their squad already (Lucho González, Lisandro López and Ernesto Farías), the Portugese side were Belluschi's preferred desination, but now it seems they're either stalling, or his agent was making it up.

Olympiakos are reportedly prepared to match River's valuation of US$10 million for the player, albeit only for the 60% of his registration owned by the club - the remaining 40% would stay with Swiss enterprise Pinas Sabih. Belluschi may be on his way, though how soon and to where, we don't yet know. Watch this space...

Η ομαδάρα σάρωσε και την ΑΕΚ και πάτησε κορυφή απ' όπου - μεταξύ μας - δε θα τη ρίξει κανεις, ετσι? Τί λεει ο ειδήμων στο προηγούμενο ποστ? Στο 62' λέει κάτι έγινε, κάποιος Ριβάλντο κάτι προσπάθησε και χέστηκε η φοράδα ο Κάκος στο αλώνι. Έτσι ρε πάτε να κερδίσετε το Θρύλο? Με κλάψες για καθυστερήσεις κυριε Φερέρ? Με αοριστολογίες περι διαιτησίας κύριε Ζήκο? ΄

Η ομάδα πήρε εύκολα το ματς με Ντάρκο που όπως πάει θα σκίσει τα δίχτυα φέτο. Κι αν έρθει κι ο Μπελούσι η ομάδα θα πάρει πρωτάθλημα περπατόντας κι ας προσέχει όποιος έχει την ατυχία να κληρωθεί μαζί μας στο Τσάμπιον Λίγκ.

Όσο για τα βαζελάκια τι να πεις. Μόνο συμπάθεια για αυτή την παλαί ποτέ Ευρωπαϊκή ομάδουλα. Αυτοί κάνανε το λάθος και βγάλανε το Βύντρα απο τη ομάδα και τώρα βρίσκονται σε σύγχιση, δεν καταλαβαίνουν τι φταίει και χάνουν ακόμα. Και έχουν οι δύσμοιροι την γκαντεμιά να παίζουν δυο φορές στο Καραϊσκάκη εκεί που κλείνουν και τα 100 τους χρόνια. Μιά φορά στις 9, δεύτερη στις 13 Γενάρη κι απο 14 Γενάρη κάποιος θα τρέχει και δε θα φτάνει. Να ΄ναι ο Τζίγκερ? Να ΄ναι ο Πεσέιρο? Να ' ναι κανένας Καραγκουνάκος? Το καλύτερο που έχουν να κάνουν είναι να φτιάξουν μια επετειακή εμφάνιση για τα 100 χρόνια κόκκινου χρώματος, όπως άλλωστε ήταν και η πρώτη τους εμφάνιση, μήπως και τους λυπηθεί ο Τζόλε και σταματήσει σε λογικό αριθμό.

Una fecha muy particular que empieza a desarrollar el final de este ajustado torneo, y deja solo a aquellos que realmente pueden pelear por el título. El granate sigue en la punta, mientras que Boca está a solo 3 puntos y le pisa los talones, Independiente quedó a 4 puntos luego del empate con River, Tigre y Banfield quedaron a 5 puntos y River que ya se le hace un poco más difícil quedó a 7 puntos junto con Argentinos Juniors.

El sábado Boca enfrentaba de visitante a Racing, y lo goleó por 3 a 0 con goles de Cardozo, Palacio y Martín Palermo de penal.

Mientras tanto River enfrentaba de local a Independiente. Los dos necesitaban la victoria y el empate no les servía. Pero no pudieron sacarse ventajas, eran idas y vueltas. Independiente abrió el marcador con un cabezazo de Matheu a los 18 minutos, y a los 45 del mismo tiempo Belluschi logró emparejar las cosas con otro cabezazo. Un resultado con sabor a poco.

En la Plata se jugaba el clásico más importante de la ciudad. Se enfrentaban Estudiantes y Gimnasia. Se quedó para el Pincha que tuvo a la figura excluyente del partido en el arco, Andujar fue la gran figura del encuentro. Salgueiro anotó el gol de la victoria a los 34 minutos del primer tiempo. Con este resultado Estudiantes queda a 10 puntos de Lanús y se le hace difícil ya la punta del campeonato.

También se disputó el clásico de Parque Patricios. El encuentro terminó empatado en 1. El marcador lo abrió San Lorenzo por medio de Bottinelli a los 18 minutos y Paolo Goltz igualó para Huracán a los 34. No se sacaron ventajas y quedaron igualados en el clásico.

Sin dudas que el partido más importante de la fecha lo disputaban Lanús y Tigre, el puntero y uno de los escoltas. Fue un Lanús de juego preciso y profundo que consolidó esta noche con otra gran victoria, ya que lo hace quedar cada vez más cerca del título. En la primera parte, José Sand, de penal, había puesto en ventaja a los granates, pero empató Leandro Lázzaro, de cabeza. Ya en el segundo tiempo Matías Fritzler le dio de cabeza el gol de la victoria, a los 15 minutos del segundo tiempo, a Lanús.
